We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Takeisha Hardaway a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Takeisha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Learning my craft has took hard work and dedication and perseverance. Once I knew of what I wanted to do and having a talent for it, I went school and studied very hard. Then in addition, I also learned by doing hands to gain experience and as well as experimenting to see what results are being produced which is a way I learn my craft. Then also reading books and buying the equipment that I needed is another secondary way to learn my craft.
Takeisha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have became part of the industry by knowing what I was good at which was writing music and my other creative talents. In addition, I presented my work to clients such as artists, song writers, music producers, and A&R reps and they recognized my talent and I after that I got signed to a record label which was Funktasy located in Montreal, Canada. With this label, I have worked with some of the most amazing artists and song writers which was a really great experience for me. I’m very proud of my work and my success of earning my education and furthering my education and also following my heart and passion of continuing to do what I love as well as being my own unique person.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artists or creative are being able to doing what I love and when the audiences love my creativity and work. Also, being able to use my talents in different aspects of the music industry and video game industry.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I build my audience on social media by uploading my works of music and video games and I receive great progress on how my works are doing. I will say for those who just starting out, know your audience and know the audience that you are targeting for and study and learn your craft as well.
