We were lucky to catch up with TAKA$ recently and have shared our conversation below.
TAKA$, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I would have started a lot sooner. I’ve been writing, singing, and performing live since 2010 but I’d never thought I could take the next step as an artist until I saw others do it. I saw kids like Lil Uzi, XXXTentacion, and many other young artists pursue their crafts at such a young age and realized I never needed someone to say I was good enough to try. I just had to try. Obviously as an independent artist there’s a learning curve, it’s not just about the art but how you share it with others and connect with your audience. I feel like I would have learned it all a lot sooner if I began in 2013 when I really started being confident in my talent. However, other than the date of when I started truly recording and pushing my artistry, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
You’ll have to forgive me. I hate writing so I’ll keep this very short and simple. I’m TAKA$, I’m a singer, songwriter, rapper, investor, and self proclaimed athlete. I make music I love listening to and my biggest inspirations are The Weeknd and Jay Z. I also invest in cryptocurrency and the foreign exchange markets as well as help educate others who have interest in those fields. As far as creatively I pride myself on my penmanship. I know how to put lyrics together very well. I’ve also helped over 50 individuals start their path to investing and helped them succeed in multiple ways over the last 2 years.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I love them. They can have a lot of use case or simply be very cool pieces of art to own/earn from. The point behind them is the biggest thing. It’s all about ownership and decentralization at the end of the day.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I love when people enjoy my music as much as I enjoy my favorite artists. That is the biggest compliment to me as a creative. I make music to give people the same feelings I get when I’m inspired by a song that I can relate to or that moves me.
