We were lucky to catch up with TAIRA + ANDY RODRIGUEZ recently and have shared our conversation below.

TAIRA + ANDY, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

The story behind the mission…. I Do Elopements and Events was founded in 2021 whilst the world was at a standstill. Andy and I decided it was time to really follow our dreams and we immediately took a leap of faith and launched our small business. To be honest we didn’t know where this adventure was about to take us but we believed in each other and have always given our 100% on any project. For us, this business, this community we have built, is our child, our baby that we would do anything for!

Funny enough we actually had our wedding planned for 2020 when the world shut down. Let’s just say we are extremely familiar with this long process. Andy and I were trying to find the best solution for us that still allowed us to get married and cherish each other. That meant we had to deal with multiple vendors, canceling, rescheduling, and rereading the fine print on many contracts to find a solution that would work for us.

We then decieded and planned our “Elopement Adventure” through a 16-day road trip which led us to “Garden of the Gods” in Colorado where we said, ” I DO”. When I say this whole experience was magical, it’s an understatement. The excitement and joy we shared throughout this trip, we hope every couple we work with gets the pleasure of experiencing. Andy and I are full of creative, out-of-the-box ideas and we are beyond grateful for the clients that trust us and believe in us, to let us go wild!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?

We are a husband and wife team dedicated to creating memorable moments with each of our clients. Our team is dedicated to providing the best service in town. Our passion for this industry comes from all of the amazing people we get to meet and how blessed we are to become part of their journey in life. Regardless of the type of event, we get to celebrate with you, we thank you for choosing us every time!

Owner and Lead Wedding Planner “Taira” has a true art for making you feel right at home. She is a creative individual who thinks outside the box to transform your dream into a reality. Taira has over 9 years of experience in the Wedding & Event Planning Industry. Taira has also worked as a creative director in local art shows in the Orlando area. She graduated from Valencia & Florida Atlantic University.

Event Manager & Co-Owner Andy has been in the hospitality industry for over 10 years and excels in creating amazing parties and get-togethers. Andy is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a concentration in Hospitality Management & Tourism. He is a great leader and host who thrives in making sure our couple’s needs are met at all times. Andy is also our lead Certified Bartender who can create crafted cocktails for any event!

How did you build your audience on social media?

For us, the trick is to constantly be evolving and growing. Always have an open mind to trying out new techniques, trends, etc. Something that may work for us, may not work for your business, but that’s why you have to test it out and adopt the things that do work for you. Being an entrepreneur requires a lot of discipline, meaning setting up a schedule and creating a routine where you can dedicate a certain amount of time to things such as marketing which is such a big part of our business.

Our motto here at I Do Elopement and Events is: “Don’t knock it until you try it”

Our clients are everything to us, literally, we wouldn’t be where we are now without them! We take huge pride in the connections we build with our clients. When we are planning an event for someone, we get to know everything about them. what they enjoy doing, their dislikes, their favorite colors/activities, friends, and families with really cool family history.

For us this is all more than a business, we take time out of our busy day to check in with everyone and make sure everyone feels welcomed and loved. Just like we would have wanted to experience when we were planning our wedding.
