We were lucky to catch up with Taffiney Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Taffiney, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project that I’ve worked on is Would You Marry You.
The backstory is interesting as it began with me deciding I wanted to get remarried. I had a long list of spiritually mature characteristics I was praying for when God asked me the question that birth the movement. What started as a deep dive through scripture to understand marriage, led me to understanding what it meant to be a wife, which led to what it meant to be a daughter and citizen of the Kingdom of God. This information gave me revelation of the need for self-evaluation, which resulted in a 6 steps process for application of the wisdom I had received that led to true transformation. The work toward my desire to healthy relationships started with me choosing to do the work first to bring the best version of me to the table in EVERY relationship. From that point on, I have used this process to help others through books, screenplays, spoken words, conferences, short film, coaching, counseling, holding several workshops and speaking on many stages domestically and internationally. I am currently producing a television show, writing the script for the movie, and tv series.
The very first projects I wrote and produced for this movement was recognized as an International Christian Visual Media Bronze Crown Award Winner in Best Short Film, There is so much more coming down the pike for this movement.
This entire movement is very meaningful to me as it utilizes every form of creative and innovative media to provide a face of hope to those traveling through difficult situations. They can see their story matters, they can turn pain into purpose by sharing it, and be the change they want to see in others. After all, we are the common denominator in every relationship and it matters how “we” show up, we get to find Joy.

Taffiney, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born to 14-year-old parents and adopted by my great aunt who recognized that my grandmother was attempting to abort me using quinine and turpentine. Through those unhealthy relationships, I learned unhealthy coping mechanism which were ultimately used for my good. Overachieving, always learning new things, operating in excellence, isolation to create my own reality through reading and writing became my escape and quest for acceptance, security, significance as well as my inner healing.
Then I met my dad when I was 30, (he went to be with the Lord a few months ago). He sparked my reintroduction to media as a whole when he asked me the question, “How would you know anything about Martin Luther King unless someone told the story? Now, how will anyone know anything unless it was written, told, or shown. I need you to write, speak, and show the stories. Someone’s healing journey is sitting in your journals and on your hard drive”
Since that time, I have been telling the stories by (in the words of a friend) Hitting the PAVEMENT. (PRINT- books, magazine, online blog, AUDIO- speaking, voice over, spoken word, VISUAL- YouTube, television, FB live, EVENTS- summits, convention, MOVIES- documentary, feature film, and ENT-entertainment, shows, conference.
I moved to Tennessee in 2012. Having left a successful career in auditing, accounting, and real estate, I chose to reinvent myself as an entrepreneur Life Coach and Counselor through the ministry I founded, Journey to Impact. Sharing part of my story from my healing journal led to being recognized as a Bestselling author. With a dozen more books to follow, including: I’m Saved, Now What, A Journey to Truth: Disowning the Lies, and Would You Marry You, and I’m still writing,
Journey to Impact Media was created to combine all these avenues as a way to use media as a pathway help others. It is a multi-faceted organization designed to help entrepreneurs start, grow, and expand by sharing their stories and helping others. We specialize in Coaching, Training, and Funding. We coach individuals to share their story from pain to purpose and take it to book and or script format.
One of the things that set us apart is once the story is written, we offer Life Coach Certification to utilize their books to create a successful coaching business. This business is complete in a box. (Business forms, formation, online presence, practicum, mentorship, and marketing tools).
Another thing that sets us apart is that we have access to funding options, several media platforms, movie/television producers, and stages that our clients have the ability to be exposed to create social proof, exposure, and publicity to grow their business and positively impact the world.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn “you can’t trust ANYBODY” I chose to replace that with “use wisdom” . I don’t have to do everything by myself. Kingdom Collaboration makes things move faster to reach more people in a shorter period of time, a non-renewable resource.
It took me close to 7 years to accomplish something the first time that took less than 6 months the next. I chose to do the inner work of healing my soul, I was able to reached out for and accepted help from others. Relying on my effective skillsets perfected in previous careers of building and working with teams, I returned to giving them creative ability in their prospective areas of genius, expertise. This created harmony (different instruments creating one beautiful sound). It is pleasing to the ear and heart. Bringing peace and forward movement at a speed that is unattainable through one instrument alone. Collaboration, gleaning from each other, masterminds, mentors, coaches were all shortcuts to the process. When I chose the route of investing in these joint efforts, I saw the trajectory of my business, creativity, impact, influence and ultimately my income shift. Now I get to do the same for others and so can you.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being a creative is most rewarding when I see it impacting the lives of others to stop the limiting BS…(belief systems) that has held them back from becoming all they were created to be. When I see those that were afraid to speak up on a Zoom call with 10 people now speaking in front of crowds of thousands, using nuggets that you shared with them to help them shift their thought to shift their story, words can’t explain. The way my YES to storytelling impacts the lives of others and their life impact the lives of their communities is what I feel creatives are called to do.
