We were lucky to catch up with Tae Gold recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tae, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is to become one of, if not the biggest artist internationally. I take pride in the way that craft has progressed over the years, and I want to continue discovering new ways to improve and reinvent myself. This mission is meaningful to me because I am truly a fan of the art and processes that artists and musicians go through to develop a relationship with millions around the world. Music is subjective to the listener and building those connections through my sound and lyrics is very important.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I go by the name of Tae Gold, and I am an independent artist & musician from Memphis, Tennessee. I got introduced to music very early life as a drummer but transitioning into becoming a recording artist did not take place until 2017. During that year, I attended Middle Tennessee State University and that is where I began to meet other artists, engineers, producers and more. Despite only being there for a year, just being in that environment opened my eyes and boosted my confidence to take my destiny into my own hands. That time period is where I first began to experience long studio sessions where I got to see creators who were way more advanced than me really work and produce something great. As far as the services and creative works I offer, I am currently open to doing features and collaborating with any upcoming artist with a similar drive as me. I’ve also began to engineer music as well, and it is a skill that I’m glad to have in my arsenal because you can’t go wrong with being a jack of all trades. I look forward to working with all producers, engineers, and artists who are aspiring for greatness. The one feat that I am most proud of to this point is reaching the 1 million plays milestone on SoundCloud along with the thousands of streams I’ve accumulated across the world on all streaming platforms.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is hearing how my lyrics have affected the listener and how relatable they feel to me even though they don’t know me personally.
