We were lucky to catch up with Tae Daaz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tae, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Creating opportunities is more than a goal—it’s a reflection of who I am and what I value most. I believe that everyone deserves a chance to grow, to shine, and to become more than their circumstances may allow. For me, creating opportunities means opening doors that might otherwise remain closed.
I’ve seen firsthand how one opportunity can change the trajectory of someone’s life. I am also a walking testimony and that’s why this mission matters so deeply to me. It’s not about grand gestures; it’s about impact. It’s about planting seeds of possibility and watching them grow into confidence, capability, and change. Creating opportunities means lifting others, empowering communities, and leaving a legacy that lasts far beyond myself.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m the Co-founder of 1025 Production Company, a creative future powerhouse built on storytelling, vision, and heart. I started this journey because I’ve always believed in the power of stories to connect, inspire, and entertain. What began as a passion project has grown into a full-scale production company that brings bold, original content to life.
At 1025 Production Company, we specialize in producing feature films, short films, music videos, and podcasts. Each project is crafted with intention, creativity, and a deep respect for the message behind the work. We’re now expanding into docu-series, reality, and branded content—pushing boundaries and exploring new formats to engage audiences in fresh, compelling ways.
We solve creative challenges by knowing how to pivot and think in the moment, from idea to execution, with an amazing team and producing partner and Co-Founder Charmain Johnson, that values collaboration and authenticity. What sets us apart is our commitment to storytelling that feels real, relevant, and rooted in culture.
What I’m most proud of is the impact our work has had on people, whether it’s sparking thought, evoking emotion, or giving someone a platform to share their truth. At the end of the day, it’s about creating opportunities for the voices, talent, and ideas that deserve to be seen and heard.
If you’re looking to create something powerful, original, and deeply human, 1025 Production Company is here to make it happen.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I moved from Florida to Los Angeles with nothing but a suitcase, my last check, and a dream. No safety net, no guarantees, just faith in myself, my vision, and the stories I felt called to tell. It was one of the scariest and most defining decisions of my life.
I knew I had to survive, so I hit the ground running, finding a job to keep myself afloat while writing, creating, and pitching TV pilots with my writing partner any chance I got. There were days I didn’t know how I’d make rent or keep pushing through the silence of unanswered emails and closed doors. But I kept going. I stayed up late perfecting scripts, networking, learning the business, and building relationships.
That hustle, that hunger, and that season of sacrifice laid the foundation for what would become 1025 Production Company. It taught me resilience, not just as a survival skill, but as a way of life. Every “no” sharpened my focus. Every obstacle made me more creative. And every small win reminded me that I was building something bigger than myself.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was waiting for permission.
When I first got into this industry, I thought I had to be “chosen.” I thought I needed someone else’s approval, an agent, a studio, a big name to validate my work or give me the green light to create. So I spent a lot of time pitching, waiting, hoping… and doubting myself when the opportunities didn’t come right away.
After moving to L.A, I didn’t have the luxury of waiting anymore. I realized if I kept waiting for permission, I might never get to do the work I was meant to do. So I stopped asking. I started producing my own content, telling stories I believed in, and creating opportunities instead of waiting for them.
That mindset shift was everything. It gave birth to 1025 Production Company. It taught me that we don’t need to be picked, we need to show up, stay ready, and bet on ourselves. The industry may take time to catch up, but when you move like your work matters (because it does), you stop playing small.
Unlearning the need for permission opened the door to full creative freedom and that’s where the real magic happens.
