Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tabnie Dozier. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tabnie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I definitely wish I started my creative career sooner. As a TV News Journalist, I was utilizing various creative aspects daily, such as interviewing, video editing, production and more. I spent 11 years working as a Local News Anchor and Reporter on both sides of the country and if someone had dropped a line to me discussing starting an LLC, even as a Media Consultant, I would not have hesitated. Especially while still connected to a corporate paycheck. It is much harder being an entrepreneur without steady income and trying to navigate such new spaces. I launched Tabnie Dozier Enterprises in 2022 and in hindsight, the agency could have kicked off between 2016-2019.

Tabnie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have always loved watching the news as a kid. It was something my household always had on television. From checking to see if school was canceled due to weather, to seeing sports highlights while playing high school basketball, public information and education always interested me. After receiving a degree in Broadcast News and a Minor in Spanish from Western Kentucky University, I entered the journalism field full-time as a Reporter in August 2011. Fast forward 11 years and I hung up my studio mic for good in August 2022 and created Tabnie Dozier Enterprises, known as TDE for short.
My spectacular media and marketing agency offers crisis communication, press release distribution, public speaking and media training, visual and written storytelling production, event planning and emcee services and media consulting. Our current target market consists of high-level public figures, established brands and corporate companies. Our services meet their specific needs in the realms of communication and consulting. That could be via public speaking and media training for employees and liaisons that speak on camera or in front of crowds. We provide consulting for crisis communication and creative direction for unique projects or as a support in the realm of marketing and media exposure with press releases and storytelling.
My company’s impact in the lives of our customers is achieved by elevating their excellence and providing a creative outlet for storytelling. Nothing brings greater joy than taking a client’s vision for storytelling regarding their products, services or journeys and bringing it to reality. Whether its in a written article for their website, visual storytelling feature for their Youtube channel or securing a media hit with our press releases. Providing exposure and a bigger voice for their brands is why we do what we do.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Community is essential in life and as a business owner. Society plays a huge role in the success of creatives. What people fail to realize is simply sharing a social media post, liking and commenting, referring a creative are all free tasks that can make a massive difference. People are engulfed with consumerism when it comes to celebrities and influencers, but you don’t often see that same energy when it comes to your family, neighbors, former classmates and colleagues. Us creatives are deserving of growth, engagement and support and often the people closest to us forget that and rarely help us boost our excellence.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the autonomy of my time. Coming from local news, we as journalists are first responders. We encounter high stress situations and run toward danger all in the name of public safety and accuracy. I’ve worked holidays, weekends, overnights, missed weddings, funerals, baby showers and other occasions due to the 365 operation of television news. For the first time in my adulthood, I have control of my schedule. I can book client meetings and production shoots based on my availability, I can visit loved ones and travel internationally based on my desires and preferences. Time is our most expensive and cherished commodity because we deplete it daily and never get to replenish it. I am beyond blessed, in the midst of uncertainties and global chaos, to control my schedule and have ownership of my time.
