We caught up with the brilliant and insightful T.Denise McDaniel a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
T.Denise , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
A hero is defined as a person who is admired or idolized for their courage, outstanding achievements and noble qualities. A hero to me would be my big brother BRANDON. My brother has brain cancer which has caused him to have multiple surgeries as well as chemo and radiation over the past years. He was also recently the victim of a road rage shooting which resulted in over 18 surgeries.
However despite the challenges he faces daily he continues to be in big brother mode. Always calling and checking on me to make sure I’m in good spirits. Even when starting my business he was one of the main people encouraging and supporting me. The first text I ever received from him, saying he was proud of me brought tears to my eyes. On some days he is in so much pain but he has never let that stop him from being a father, grandfather and the best BIG BROTHER. This is just a small amount of the things i could say. I can never complain about life when he is a walking and talking miracle. His strength and courage to fight each day gives me strength to continue to make him proud.
T.Denise , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am the owner of ROYAL TEE CLEANING SERVICE. I started my business 5 years ago. My company was started only offering residential and commercial cleaning services. Now we service Airbnb properties as well as 10 units throughout the Houston area, recently adding properties in Galveston and Austin Texas. Being able to service my clients, that live in other states is what I am most proud. To have my clients trust me with their investment, makes my heart smile. There is nothing like getting a text from a client, showing their appreciation or complimenting my team for a job well done. In addition to cleaning I also offer shopping/errand services, airport pickups/drop-off for my Airbnb guest. It’s a joy to be able to give my clients the full ROYAL TEE CLEANING SERVICE experience.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Most of my clients follow me on social media. That gives them the opportunity to engage with me outside of work & see me being my true authentic self. It also lets me into their world. I’m able to see kids birthdays, graduations, anniversaries and holiday celebrations. Each client is different so i treat them as individuals. I don’t just service their home. I go off their wants. It can be the smallest things such as placement of their reading glasses or something as small as their preference in placing the ketchup in the pantry or refrigerator. Those little details are sometimes a big deal for clients. I have also learned that my clients, appreciate when I check in with them. Sometimes that’s stopping by to say hello or simply sending a text to check on them.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Starting my business was a choice I made after losing my full-time job. I was lost & making poor decisions. So, when times get hard, and business gets slow I think about how far I’ve come. How i started with no clients and now I have my own company that allows me to provide for not only myself but my family.
