We recently connected with Syvae McDaniel and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Syvae thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I currently manage my own social media platforms. My idea is to authentically create, build and maintain relationships with my supporters/ audience. I think having a genuine relationship helps to build trust which can lead to growing my platform and reaching more women/ people across the world.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
As a creative, I have always been intrigued by content creation and being able to tell a story through the content I create. Making my content relatable and creative is something I enjoy because it allows me to connect with women who are just like myself.
Being a content creator definitely comes with its own challenges as sometimes we can fall into the cycle of comparing ourselves to others, but what I have learned most about this process and journey is that you are uniquely you and no one can beat that.
I am proud of myself for not quitting because creating content isn’t always perfect. Sometimes your content will perform really well and others may flop, but I am proud that I keep going despite of because I genuinely love to create!
My one piece of advice would be to start with what you have, you don’t have to have the best to be the best!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The mission that drives my creative journey is to inspire people to go after what they love and are passionate about! With working in a corporate setting, sometimes we forget to work on things that we truly love. Being in front of the camera and creating content that is capturing and shows my personality is truly what I enjoy doing.
Knowing that I can do this full time inspires me to keep going after what I love even when my goals seem far out of reach.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building an audience can be one of the hardest tasks when it comes to social media. I’ve built my audience over time with being authentic but also sharing and posting content that is relatable! When people can relate to you and they know there’s a human being on the other side of the camera, it makes it easier for them to connect with you. My major piece of advice would be to do what inspires you and do what you love. Don’t compare your journey to someone else’s, your journey is meant only for you!
