Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Syndee Moon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Syndee, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Your ability to build a team is often a key determinant of your success as a business owner and so we’d love to get a conversation going with successful entrepreneurs like yourself around what your recruiting process was like -especially early on. How did you build your team?
When my husband and I first began our business journey, it was just he and I learning the business and figuring out the system. I was teaching and in the PhD program for psychology at the time he began, so I was part time and he was running the business full time.
The really great thing about our company, is the system is proven and you’re allowed to scale and grow this business as big or as small as you want. Within our first 4 months in business, I was able to retire from teaching and run the business full time with my husband. We’re a business within the company and with little start up costs, we had the privilege to become equity owners of the company.
We have been able to scale our business from nothing: no previous financial or business experience, to more than a billion in death benefits and secured retirement income for American families.
When we started, it was a lot of networking, branding ourselves, setting up at local and neighborhood events, a lot of workshops that ended up with 0 guests, really in the grind figuring out the best way to recruit and attract top talent. We are not a captive agency, so we’re recruiting a volunteer work force of people who either want to truly develop and be successful in business or not. So, we’re always on the hunt for ambitious individuals, who have a heart to make an impact and service the communities, solving their #1 issue (money), with the drive to truly become a professional in the top paying industry. Our recruiting process is simple and we know instantly if someone is or isn’t what we’re looking for and vice versa. We want people who love the culture of our company and who truly believe in what we do for families. Our training is very hands on and one on one. We believe in the power of simplifying to duplicate and transfer skills.
Now, with years of evolving, learning and growing, we have an influx of clients and agents that we get to connect with all across the US, because of social media. My husband runs training and developing of social media for our agents and I run the training and developing in the field with our agents and we both serve clients. We’re actually flying to Tennessee this weekend for a couple we recruited who are looking to open their own firm, out in that area.
During the pandemic, we truly felt the advantages of building a business because we were running business as usual, growing at 117% while our kids enjoyed their time at home with us. In fact, we loved it so much, they’re still home learning to this day. We travel and have a lot of time freedom to truly build our out of state agents and scale the business.
The only thing I would do different, is fall in love with recruiting sooner. I absolutely LOVE the process of learning about people, their goals, dreams and how I can help them achieve those goals.
I am truly grateful to God for guiding us to this company and allowing us to have the ambition and drive to build the life we want. I look forward to recruiting like minded individuals and helping them win big alongside us and connecting with many more amazing individuals along our journey.

I came from the education profession & I naturally have a heart for educating and empowering others. When my husband found this company, initially it was just for him but I quickly fell in love with the culture of our company and what we do for families and I knew I had to be part of it.
On one aspect, we educate and empower families on financial literacy. As we know, money has always been the number 1 issue amongst Americans which is why so many people struggle financially and can never get ahead. So, I love bringing the knowledge to our communities and teaching them how to implant to create real change for their families, for generations.
On the other aspect of our business, we teach individuals the skills to learn how to make part time or full time income, doing the same thing we do. Over 80% of Americans were living check to check before this inflation and economic turmoil & it’s getting much worse now, where a second income is necessary. We come across people from all backgrounds and walks of life looking for one main thing: FINANCIAL FREEDOM. We provide them the opportunity, the training and development and the example of what’s possible.
What sets us apart from other FMOs is the direct coaching and mentorship from the most successful leaders in the company and more importantly, leadership. We’re building people to become business owners from scratch. Employee and self employed mindset is very different than becoming a business owner, so the leadership development is definitely what sets us apart. Also the fact that we’re known for being most diverse FMO in the financial services space.
I am honored and so proud that we get to truly help families protect their hard earned money, set their families up for financial success, ultimately changing the financial trajectory for generations to come, by simply implementing 1 small thing into their lives!! I also get so hyped about helping other families succeed and build their dreams by partnering with us in business. I truly have a heart for making an impact and it doesn’t get any bigger than the heart of all American homes: their personal finance.

The company I’m honored to be part of is PHP Agency and our business name is Legacy Financial Academy. I am a state licensed professional, licensed in over 30 states with offices and agents in over 30 states.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Our company is HUGE on culture. We have groupme for communication with our teams across the US, fbpage for live trainings, zoom conference calls for our baseshops (teams). We also have a local office for local teams and 2 designated training evenings and mornings. We enjoy making training fun, we challenge and compete, we host after parties and events to build real relationships & our training conventions are THE BEST!! This year it will be hosted at MGMGrande again and we have Nelly coming to perform, Laila Ali, Shaq, our CEO Patrick Bet-David and many other killer key note speakers and trainers and the events are always like that. We go all out because we believe in high energy and excitement to keep our agents engaged and exposure to coaching and training from the greats= success!! So, overall just communication, keep them engaged with company events, amazing energy, fun, results and a heart for your people. People know when you care and it makes all the difference.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The biggest advice I can give, is consistency and giving value. When people see you’re consistent and you’re adding value to them, they build trust and feel like they’re getting to know you. That’s what’s helped us really explode.
