We recently connected with Syncere Evans and have shared our conversation below.
Syncere, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later?
I started Emperial Music Group LLC back in 2021 after Pandemic had hit. Before that my company was called Flood Gates Entertainment which I started in 2017. Flood Gates Entertainment became a household name in the Independent Music Industry, until someone decided to trademark it in 2020.
The Trademark caused me to change the name to Emperial Music Group LLC. However I have been in the music industry since 2005 doing production. What I know now, if I knew back then I would have done live concerts back then. I probably would be like Live Nation by now doing the live concerts events.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Syncere Evans. Ceo and owner of Emperial Music Group LLC. I am a Plainfield, New Jersey native who grew up in the music industry. My father’s side of the family are mostly musicians and gospel artists. So I took on that aspect at a very young age learning to play the drums, saxophone, and some piano.
Even though I do not play any of those instruments now. I first started to get my recognition in the music industry once I was older in my 20’s. One of my childhood friends and I started a production company and we were able to get a few big song placements with artists such as Jim Jones, Christina Aguilera , B5 just to name a few.
Getting song placements is always good but I wanted more. I wanted to learn other avenues of the music industry. With that respect I started my own company that specializes in Concert Curator , Artist Development , marketing and Branding, and Music Video placement. The name of that company is called Emperial Music Group LLC.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe by me being consistent and keeping things authentic is what helped build my reputation in the music industry. What I mean by authentic is providing services that I can actually deliver on.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I mostly attract new clients by word of mouth. I try to provide such a good service for the current clients, that they spread the word , which ends up attracting new clients.
