We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sylvia Fischer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sylvia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
When I began studying to become an esthetician, my mission was simple: help people care for their skin and feel more confident in their own beauty.
But as time passed, I felt a deeper calling—toward energy work, inner healing, and the emotional layers beneath the surface. I realized that true radiance doesn’t start with appearance alone—it begins within.
That’s why I created Sacred Prana Beauty Spa: to merge skincare with energetic and holistic support. My goal is to care for the whole person—to nurture both skin and spirit.
Because self-care isn’t one-dimensional. It’s breathwork, intention, healing touch, and skin rituals that remind you of your worth.
When we feel whole inside, that glow naturally radiates outward.

Sylvia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Sylvia Fischer, and I’m the creator and sole practitioner of Sacred Prana Beauty Spa—a space where holistic skincare, energy work, and soul-centered rituals come together to support true, radiant healing.
I first enrolled in esthetics school back in 2012 and graduated in 2013 in California. At the time, my focus was purely on technique, product knowledge, and helping clients with skin-deep concerns—things like acne, dryness, texture, and boosting physical confidence. I genuinely loved skin and the science of it, but I never took the leap to become licensed. In truth, I was scared. I felt like if I failed, I’d be letting myself and others down. That fear kept me from even trying. I didn’t speak about esthetics for years. It wasn’t until I began doing deep self-work that I finally found the courage to get out of my own way. In August of 2024—a decade plus later—I took my 3 exams in Nevada just two weeks apart… and passed with flying colors!
During that gap, something beautiful happened: I became fully immersed in the world of energy work. Skincare took a backseat as I dove into emotional healing, spiritual wellness, and holistic practices. I studied, unraveled, and reconnected with myself through intuitive work. And eventually, I realized—I didn’t have to choose one path. I could merge both of my passions and create something deeper. With a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of purpose, I founded Sacred Prana Beauty Spa to support others the way I had learned to support myself—inside and out.
At Sacred Prana Beauty Spa, I offer a range of facial treatments tailored to each client’s unique skin needs, concerns, and energetic state. Services range from express facials to luxurious, 90-minute experiences that combine advanced skincare with gentle, intuitive energy work. Each appointment begins well before the client arrives—I take time to set intentions for the session and energetically prepare the space. Once they’re here, we begin with breathwork and a brief guided & grounding meditation, followed by an oracle card pull for inspiration and reflection. Energy work is gently infused throughout the service—from intention-infused massage to aura clearing during masking—offering a full-spectrum experience that goes far beyond skin-deep.
What sets my practice apart is that it’s not just about achieving a glow—it’s about creating a sense of ease, alignment, and reconnection. Many of my clients tell me their facial felt like a reset. A return to themselves. A space where they could breathe again.
I’m most proud of creating a place where people feel safe to be fully seen—not just for their skin concerns, but as whole, dynamic, beautiful beings. I want every person who walks through my door to leave feeling clearer, lighter, and deeply cared for.
For anyone who finds their way to Sacred Prana BeautySpa, know this: your healing is welcome here. Whether you’re coming in for hydration, calm, release, or reconnection—I’ve created this space with intention, and with you in mind.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was that success has to look a certain way—and that I had to be perfectly molded in order to achieve it.
When I first signed up for esthetics school, I had a passion for skin and a curiosity for the craft, but I also carried a lot of pressure. I believed I had to follow a specific timeline, a polished path, and perform at a certain level to be “worthy” of success. After graduating, I didn’t take my state board exams. And instead of being kind to myself, I carried guilt and shame. I was more worried about what others would think if I failed than about giving myself a chance to grow. I told myself I wasn’t ready—and the fear of having to explain “why I failed” became louder than the desire to try. So I stayed quiet, and pushed that dream aside for years.
But with time, healing, and space, I started to see it differently. I’m not the same person I was when I enrolled, or even when I graduated. The time in between was necessary. It allowed new parts of me to surface—parts that needed slowness, softness, and self-trust. The delays, the fears, the nonlinear path—it all shaped the way I now hold space for others.
Because I went through that, I’m empathetic. I understand hesitation, self-doubt, and starting over. That’s why I make my treatment room a judgment-free zone. No matter what service a client comes in for, I meet them with patience, presence, and compassion.
Even when I began building Sacred Prana Beauty Spa, the old stories tried to sneak back in—telling me everything had to be perfect before I began. And truthfully, those stories still peek their ugly heads out once in a while. But because of the self-development work I continue to do—the inner rewiring, the healing, the self-honoring—I no longer let those stories stay. I’m still human, and yes, sometimes it takes me a moment to ground myself and remember: I no longer function from that old place. Now, I move forward anyway. Because success doesn’t come from avoiding failure—it comes from rising through it, learning from it, and showing up with more grace than before.

Have you ever had to pivot?
A major pivot in my journey came when I stepped away from skincare—not because I didn’t love it, but because life was calling me inward.
After graduating from esthetics school and not pursuing licensure, I found myself being pulled into the world of energy work. I became fascinated by how emotions, stress, trauma, and spiritual imbalance manifest in the body. My curiosity led me deeper into intuitive healing, somatic practices, and spiritual development.
At the same time, I felt a strong urge to share that healing with others. I wanted to launch an energy work practice, but I kept hitting a wall. I was facing deep limiting beliefs, self-doubt, feelings of unworthiness, and a fear of receiving money for something that felt so sacred. I offered free healing sessions, believing I could “do the work” for people and expecting that would be enough. But what it really revealed was this: I wasn’t ready.
This realization forced me inward once again. I committed to doing deeper healing through talk therapy, EMDR, and self-inquiry—learning how to show up for myself in the way I wanted to show up for others. And during that time, I made another pivot: I started a pet boarding business from home. What I thought would just be a practical side job ended up becoming unexpectedly healing. Caring for animals reminded me of my nurturing nature. It taught me patience, trust, consistency, and how to receive—especially in the form of payment. It was the bridge I needed to begin seeing my worth in a grounded, tangible way.
All of it—the energy work, the therapy, the pets—prepared me to come back to my original calling as an esthetician. But this time, I returned with more meaning, intention, and depth. That’s how Sacred Prana Beauty Spa was born. A place where every layer of my journey lives in the work I now offer. Where skincare meets energy work, and where healing is honored in every form it arrives.
