Sydney , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
At Penguin Party Collective, I pride myself on doing things differently. While many companies in the wedding stationery industry rely on templated designs, I offer 100% custom creations that are as unique as the couples I work with. From invitation suites to the last detail of the day, every piece is made with intention and care, reflecting the story of the couple and their shared journey.
For me, it’s about making sure the wedding feels like “them”—that the designs are an expression of their personalities and passions. One of my favorite examples of this comes from a couple who had a deep love for roller coasters. In fact, he proposed at the base of the Cyclone at Coney Island! For their wedding, I designed a custom logo that was inspired by the loops of a roller coaster but also mimicked the shape of a wedding arch. We carried this design across every piece of their stationery—from the invitation suite to their guestbook and signage. It wasn’t just a logo; it was a meaningful element that tied their love story into every part of their day.
These special moments just aren’t possible with a template. Every wedding is a blank canvas, and I get to bring their most personal stories to life with custom digital watercolors, hand-drawn maps, illustrations, and so much more. I’m all about the details—whether it’s a hidden theme, a special memory, or a quirky passion—and I thrive on creating designs that make a couple’s day feel extra special.
The crazier the idea, the better! I love being able to surprise my couples with designs that are not only beautiful but also deeply connected to who they are. It’s all about creating a wedding experience that’s as unique and unforgettable as the couple themselves.

Hi there! I’m Sydney, the owner and designer behind Penguin Party Collective, where I create 100% custom wedding and event stationery and day-of details. My journey into the world of wedding design started with a background in graphic design, where I spent several years working with brands like the New York Mets and Chip City Cookies. These experiences helped me fine-tune my design skills, but it was when my friends and family began getting engaged that I gained a passion for bringing couples’ unique stories to life through design.
I believe that every wedding should reflect the couple’s individuality, and that’s what drives my work. At Penguin Party Collective, I focus on creating a completely cohesive experience for each couple, from the first save-the-date to the very last detail of their special day. Whether it’s digital watercolors, hand-drawn maps, custom typography, or unique illustrations, I pour my heart into designing stationery that not only looks beautiful but also tells a meaningful story.
What sets me apart is my graphic design background. I don’t just create individual pieces; I build a brand for each couple. I approach every wedding with the goal of creating a seamless, personalized design experience. I handle everything a couple might need, from invitations and RSVP cards to day-of details like seating charts, custom signage, and even fun items like personalized bridal sneakers and engagement sweatshirts. Planning a wedding is no small feat, so I make the process as easy and stress-free as possible for my clients.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is watching my designs come to life and seeing the joy it brings to my clients. That “aha” moment, when they first see the vision I’ve created, is truly special. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see everything come together seamlessly, creating a cohesive and unforgettable experience that they can cherish forever.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Word of mouth has been my most effective strategy for growing my clientele! When clients recommend me to their friends and family, it’s the best form of growth I could ask for.
