Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sydne Tillman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sydne, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
The road to entrepreneurship isn’t always paved with gold, and sometimes, the “yellow brick road” has poop on it. Whenever I start a business, or help a client, I keep my methodology the same. When I initially have an idea, I “start with my Googles.” I search to see if the business name is available with the state, and all of the social media platforms. I like to verify that the idea and brand is not being used already. I follow up with brainstorming content for the brand, and what products or services I want to offer my customers. Who would my customers be? This is how I create fast growth in my business. Within a month, I’am able to create a business from scratch, and know exactly who my customers are. I research where these customers spend the most time at online, and that is where I connect with them. This is how I was able to create a 6-figure cleaning business in less than 90 days. This is how I have been able to help my marketing clients earn $10,000+ in sales in their first 45 days of consultations. Figuring out your brand, what would be your “offer” to your customers, and being able to speak to those customers consistently, is what I figured out. This is how I launch and grow every single brand I work with.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I got my start making money online 10 years ago! and “own” my own time. I started researching how to start a business online, and went down the rabbit hole. I got into network marketing, learned how to promote myself and rose to the top of every company I joined. I learned about dropshipping, and reselling products. I have taught over 5,500+ students how to make money online. With my personal clients, I have helped them create, launch, and scale their business and brands. I’m most proud of the success stories that my trainings have rendered for my students; helping people take annual salaries, and turn then into monthly salaries, helping parents earn more money without having to work more hours at their jobs. Seeing people plant the seed in their business until it has a harvest has warmed my heart. As a business management strategist, and marketing maven, I have helped people take their business to the next level. What has set me apart is that I teach from an elementary level, no matter how much business experience you have, and I show you how to implement duplicatable steps that you are able to understand. Making sure my students and clients have a foundational understanding is key in their success. I now own a Black owned travel company named Melanted Migrator, and I offer courses to help others launch, and scale their business. My goal as a “Net CEO” is to teach people how to run successful businesses via the internet.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by remembering what creates sales; “Know, like, and trust.” I allow my audience to get to know me by being authentic, and they began to like my personality, and trust me for the value that I give. There are too many people trying to mimic someone else. Be AUTHENTIC and you will continue to attract your target audience. Also, be consistent. People are paying attention to how consistent you are in your business. Why would they support a business you barely promote?
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Doing “good business” always builds your reputation in the market. Doing bad business will end your business quickly! Be a business owner with integrity. Due your due diligence on your market, and if you are positioning yourself as a coach or expert in your industry, make sure you have the knowledge to back-up your reputation.
