We were lucky to catch up with Sychoiya Hines-Rutledge recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sychoiya, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

It’s all started from when I was a child my mom would always give me amazing parties so I wanted to do the same for my kids. I would always have them beautiful over the top parties and everyone would say you should do this for other people. One day I decided to do a sleepover party for one of my friends daughter’s and it took off from there. Everyone was in love with the teepees so this lead me to start a business. We have done over 50 parties in our first year and are so excited to what’s next.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

My husband is so business oriented. He asked me for months to think about starting a business and I kept declining the offer. One day I came up with this business idea and he immediately wanted to fund it. He bought me everything I needed to do my first party.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Social media and my website has built my clientele. Recommendations and real testimonials have helped me gain more parties.
