Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sybil Henry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sybil, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
After a 25+ career in the fashion business, I was having conversations with women who were sharing frustrations about image, aging, and their personal style. They asked how I seemed to have figured it out and wanted to know how to do the same. They wanted to create a look that was relevant and modern for their age, to feel good in their body, and flatter their shape.
I knew that I had the solution to their pain and was compelled to share it. I felt passion about how I could create the solution into reality.
I created a plan to organize my business idea by writing a book, launch it, and turn my process from the book into a service. I defined my target audience, to serve businesswomen, corporate leaders or owners, over forty, who valued their image as an essential part of their business strategy.
Once I clarified the path, I wrote the book outline, then created a daily writing schedule. Every day, I wrote, and at the end of three months, my book was finished. I reached out to a few colleagues for an editor, found the perfect person and we spent the next six months finalizing the draft until I felt proud of the outcome. The editor referred me to a publisher, the book was printed, and I was ready to launch my business!
I created the process for my styling service. I simplified the process in three foundational areas of impact, brand, body, and style. I tested the concept on myself. I used some of the big brand strategies that were part of the work with my corporate clients and created a process that could be adapted for individuals.
When I completed styling myself, I couldn’t believe the results, I noticeably shifted internally and externally. I knew I had something special and couldn’t wait to share it!
I launched the website, attended a woman’s business conference, and through meeting women who were my ideal clients, left that day with feeling elated! Three women said, “I want to be your client”, please help me, and the rest is history😍

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I began my career after graduating from fashion design school and working as a fashion designer in Los Angeles for some of the biggest brands. After several decades of designing, I felt the calling to serve women leaders and launched my personal brand styling business. Initially, my focus was to serve businesswomen over forty who struggled with creating a look that felt aligned with who they are and comfortable in their skin. The struggle chipped away at their confidence, they didn’t feel proud of how they were presenting themselves, they began to feel self conscious. They knew they were not presenting their best self and it was limiting their potential to connect and attract. They knew they were capable of more and wanted to feel good.
I created my styling method for women to feel as good as they looked. It is based on creative strategy, to uncover their essence, translate it into a signature look, and reflect it on the outside for authenticity and alignment. The foundation of my work is rooted in the strategic alignment of their brand, body, and style. These are the fundamental pillars to style their greatness.
I am most proud of the work I have accomplished with each client. After going through my process, they are transformed and forever changed. They gain clarity about who they are as a brand that effortlessly connects them with their ideal clients, understand their body shape and how to flatter it, and have a style that is signature, recognizable, and memorable. Once they complete the process, it changes everything. They have a paradigm shift, they now view personal brand style as their secret weapon, a communication tool that became their priceless business strategy to show the world the best of who they are and feel as good as they look.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The most significant book in my business library is by far, the one that has impacted me in the way I think and my philosophy, The War of Art. It is the one book I rely on as my go to reminder whenever I am facing resistance or procrastination. It helps me get out of my own way.
The beauty of this book is in its simplicity. It allows me to know that each time I’m stretching, growing, moving out of my comfort zone, at some point in the journey there may be blocks that try to slow me or stop me, usually showing up as fear, doubt, or second-guessing. When I pick up this book, I am reassured that it’s just my upper limit challenging me and it’s safe to move forward. When I gain clarity and realize that the inner voice is a part of me that simply wants to keep status quo, my commitment, passion, and determination all return at full strength and I am once again able to move forward, confidently in the direction of my dreams, carry on!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I believe it is a requirement that I pivot as a vital part of sustaining the health and growth of my business. It is so easy to crave comfort and convenience, to keep things just as they are. There are many times I have had to pivot in the way I think, act, or create.
My biggest pivot was shifting from an employee to an entrepreneur. I loved my corporate life and believed the vision for my business was meant for me to bring it to life. Once the vision appeared, I couldn’t go a day without thinking about it and that is when I knew I needed to step into courage and bring it to life.
