Hi Swa , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
The First Time I Felt Like I Knew Was In 2008-09 My Older Brother Was Rapping And He Use Always Have Me On Stage With Him Like A Hype Man I Guess But After We Use To Perform Everybody Would Come Up To Me After Saying Great Show Keep Doing You On That Mic And I Always Felt Like I Ain’t Do Nothing But Repeat My Brother Lyrics But It Was My Energy My Swagg My Demeanor I Always Been A Flashy Dressing Person I Just Never Was The Main Guy But From That Day On I Knew The Camera And Lights Was For Me
Swa , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I Got In This Music Industry For One All My Uncles Was Singers & Musicians Music Is In My Blood But Me And Brother Use To Make Beats By Use Our Hands And Just Be Rapping Well We Called It Free styling And It Just Grew On Us Then We Had A Performance In San Angelo Park I Can’t Remember The Name But A Big Stage Felt Like Half The Town Was There for real We Rocked That Show We Was No Older Then 14 I Was Probably 8 Years Old Up There I Guess That Was The Start Of Our Music Journey Because Fast Forward We Move To San Antonio Texas In 2000 And Now We In A New Place So I Say 8 Years Later Wheel Of Fortune Gng Was Made And We Started Off With Sweaters Selling Merchandise With The Music We Started Growning In The Streets But The Music Wasn’t Matching The Street Grind So i Played The Manager Roll And Started Pushing My Older Music Where Ever I Could To Who I Could And It Was Working The Music Was Growning Just My Brother Wasn’t Focused On Recording Like He Was Post To He Had A lot Going On But The Brand Was Still There So 2018 I Say My Big Brother Was Finally Focused On The Music And Recording And He Released A Mixtape Called “Iam Sunrise Tx Vol 3” It Was Hosted By BWA Ron Kevin Gates Dj
That Mixtape Doing Good In The Streets Like 3 songs Off That Tape Is Getting Spin So It’s Video Time It’s 2019 Now He Shoots A Video First Of Year Called “Back Then” It Had A Mike Jones Sample On It That Video Did Ok The First Week For A Local Artist We Getting Ready To Shot Video Number 2 Boom April 19 2019 FBI DEA Show Up 6am To My Mom House And Take My Brother To Jail And I Didn’t Know What Was Going On I Had To Wait Till He Called He Told Me To Basically Grab The Mic And Hold It Down Till He Get Home And I Took On The Challenge And 2020 I Released “Back To Back” The Song Went Crazy In My Section And The Streets They Still Play That Song I Knew I Had What It Takes I Just Had To Brand Myself Differently i Knew People Knew Me For Being Funny And Dressing Nice So I Applied That To My Music And My Craft To Get The People To Gravity Towards Me As Swa Jackk And A Year I had Got 3k more Followers On Instagram My Video Was At 2k Views And Now I’m Like What Do I Do Next I’m By Myself I Can’t Call Nobody To Help Or For Advice So I Just Would Say What Would D.R.E Do Which Is My Older Brother So I Shot 5 Videos And Drop Them Ever Other Month For A Year And I Haven’t Stopped Releasing Music Since.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The Most Rewarding Thing For Me I’ll Have To Say Being Able To Provide And Make New Opportunities For My Family For Later On In Life Leave My Family Some Wealth.
: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes my goal is to be the best person i can be at the most highest point of my life that’s what drives me to keep going i got A family to take care of
