We were lucky to catch up with Susie Linquist recently and have shared our conversation below.
Susie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
Both of my parents played an integral role in me building a career I love. My dad was the hardest working man I’ve ever known, but he didn’t love his job—in fact, he hated it. Every day of my childhood, he reminded me: “Sus, find something you love to do, and find a way to make money at it.”
My mom shaped me in a different but equally powerful way. She showed me that I didn’t have to fit into the 9–5 mold, and that it was okay to pursue work that aligned with my brain, my personality, and the lifestyle I dreamed of creating.
I started my career as a photographer, and later transitioned into the health field. Through all the pivots, one thing has remained true: I have always loved my work. For that, I’m forever grateful to my dad for instilling that life-changing lesson. And now, I get to pass that same wisdom on to my own kids.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started my own health journey at 35, while raising two kids and running a photography business. Between those two things, there was little time left for me. When I finally went to a fitness class, the instructor really saw me—and it felt so good to reconnect with a side of myself I thought I had lost. Within a few years, I became certified and started teaching fitness myself. I quickly fell in love with shining the light on other women and helping them feel seen.
After a while, I realized fitness alone wasn’t enough to truly support women in feeling their best. That led me to get certified in nutrition as well. Around the same time, I faced my own health struggles and hired a functional coach to guide me through them. That experience changed my life. I overcame challenges, learned so much about my body, and gained tools I knew I needed to share with others.
Now, it’s my passion to help women in their 40s who have “tried everything” but still don’t feel good in their skin. I teach my clients how to create a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable, enjoyable, and actually works for their bodies during this season of life. My goal is to help them feel unshakably confident as they age gracefully.
What I’m most proud of is that I walk the walk. I hired a coach when I needed support, and it transformed my life. Now I do the same for others. I would never ask my clients to do something I haven’t done—or am not actively doing—myself.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I spent years trying to get my coaching business off the ground. I tried, failed, and tried again—more times than I can count. But I didn’t give up. I hired a coach, and when that didn’t get me where I wanted to be, I hired another a few years later. Along the way, I had to switch gears, change directions, and get clear on where I truly wanted to go. Each setback taught me something new. Resilience is what kept me moving forward, and it’s the reason I’m here today doing the work I love.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Be you. There are so many people out there doing similar things, but there’s only one you. What matters most isn’t doing it “perfectly,” it’s showing up consistently. If you’re willing, let yourself be vulnerable and transparent—because people are looking for someone real. They want someone they can trust, someone who’s been through the trenches and come out the other side.
