We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Susanne and Jeff Cupido. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Susanne and Jeff below.
Susanne and Jeff, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Our mission is to teach our kids to love the outdoors and nature just like we do and appreciate the beauty this world has to offer. We want parents to know that their passions and hobbies don’t need to come to a halt the moment they have a kid but instead are able to involve their kids on their adventures.
Our mission is meaningful to us because it really places an importance on quality time as a family. And that when our kids are older, they aren’t going to remember the fancy clothes they wore or the expensive toys they got, instead they will talk about the memories they made with their family and the activities they did.
As part of our blogging, we post reviews on hikes/adventures and provide tips to families on how they can include their kids in the outdoors.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
So, we got to where we are today because of our son, George and our love for the outdoors. Prior to kids, we went on various different hikes, trips and excursions and posted about it but just to our friends and family. When we noticed how intrigued people were about our adventures, we thought to ourselves ‘why not share our adventures with other families when we have a kid’. And so, we did that! At three weeks old, we took George on his first hike and now with him just turning 2 years old, he has been on over 30+ hikes and has developed into a mini explorer.
We are just an ordinary family where both of us work full time and what we do as a family is completely doable for any family with a passion for adventure. With social media, especially Instagram, it’s quite easy to get lost and compare one’s life to another and think what you are doing as a family is not enough. So, we thought, it would be a great idea to give families in our area and around some low-cost family activities, with most being free. We don’t want our platform to be one where people compare their life to us but a platform where families get inspired and embrace their own family!
We are definitely most proud of the fact that we are just able to inspire families all around the world. We received messages with families from Australia, UK, USA and other parts of Canada, asking us for tips, letting us know they planned a trip to Canada since our page inspired them or simply thanking us for opening their eyes and spending more time with their families outdoors.
We love to offer our tips and advice to other families but ultimately each family is different, and each parent knows what is best for their kids, and we are just here to support that!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson we had to unlearn was not to compare our life to others. And we have to admit, it’s still pretty tough, more so for Susanne as she is the main driver of our Instagram page and see’s other individuals’ content on a regular basis. People’s lives are far more accessible now on social media than they ever were even 7 years ago, so it’s easy to go down a rabbit hole of where you tend to wish your life was like their life. And because of that it did place a lot of disappointment for us as a family where we weren’t able to go on an adventure here or a hike there because of XYZ and it just placed us in a bitter mood.
However, we have learned that everyone’s life is different and that people 90% of the time post only the good things on social media. And that each family struggles with their own things, we just don’t see it ever or often. So, because of that we had to learn to just love our life and to remind ourselves that we are doing a great job as a married couple and as parents for our kid.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
So we met eachother in January 2014 on something called ‘Match’. And for those that don’t know what that is, its an online dating service. At that time, believe it or not, it was kind of taboo to meet people online and the normal way of meeting people was at a bar or univeristy. So we actually lied to people for a little while, which is silly, that we met through a mutual friend. I (Susanne), always like to joke that we are together because of me as I was the first one to initiate the conversation online because my age parameters were 24-30 where as Jeff’s were not as young as 21. But honestly things happened for a reason and we are so blessed that we have met each other and are able to have created the amazing family that we have,
