We were lucky to catch up with Susana Campanella recently and have shared our conversation below.

Susana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Where do I begin… Well, I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia and moved with my family to Florida when I was 12 years of old. From a very young age I enjoyed school, learning and studying various topics is something I remember fondly. I’ve always had this drive to learn, research and discover different topics and how they work. Ultimately, I think it led me to study and graduate with a Molecular Biology degree from Nova Southeastern University. After college, my husband and I became entrepreneurs, we acquired our first company and quickly began to work very hard. Many times it was long days and nights, definitely a lot of sacrifice, risk and responsibility, but we knew we were working towards something bigger. That thought alone, kept us pushing forward through any and all obstacles that came our way. Over the years, we acquired several other businesses, but my career changed when we acquired Gluteboost in 2019.

My background in molecular biology and the desire to see women progress in all aspects of life came together in a way I never imagined. Gluteboost isn’t just about the products and the results they cause, but also affecting change in women’s everyday life. Our goal is for women to live inspired, because when she is, she does things differently. We know that when a woman loves and takes care of herself, it results in confidence. Small changes everyday result in big changes over time.

I guess I am most proud that we have a voice that can influence women to be their best versions and that excites me more than I can express. I feel privileged to be part of a company that is combining innovative ingredients and powerful herbal formulations in order for women to feel more confident than they ever have.

I want women to know that Gluteboost isn’t a gimmick, we take this very seriously. We work with multiple scientist and labs who are consistently providing us with the latest technology for shaping your figure. Gluteboost is about a complete holistic journey, mind and body.

Have you ever had to pivot?

Definitely, I think in business it’s something that can happen often. Early on when we acquired the business we were targeting a very specific niche market, our messaging, content and communication were all directed towards that demographic. At some point, we realized our vision for the company was maturing and expanding; in order to get there it meant pivoting from everything we knew and starting from scratch.

This brought a lot of uncertainty in many areas, establishing a new language, brand identity and marketing strategy for the brand. We began by benchmarking, studying data and surveying our customers in order to create the right communication for our brand. Once we felt like we nailed this new direction, we began to make changes little by little. Overhauling the website and all other marketing channels would cause major disruption with consumers and loyal customers. Ultimately, pivoting has caused greater growth in our audience and industry. It has allowed us to properly communicate all aspects of who Gluteboost is, rather than just a product.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

Keeping team morale is important, one thing I know for sure is that not one person can do everything on their own. In our team we believe in sharing and carrying the weight together. We have found that this has been an excellent source of maintaining team morale. Many times we tackle a difficult task together, we find more solutions and in many cases work faster and have fun in the process. Another way we tackle this is through our CoffeeBreaks, we found that people enjoy a good cup of coffee and sometimes need that midday break to regroup and find inspiration. So, we set up a time and invite everyone on staff to join if they can. It’s a moment to disconnect from work and just connect. It’s something we all truly enjoy and something we will continue to foster as the team grows.
