We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Susan Seiguer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Susan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Many years ago when doing daily conflict resolution with a group of children in my care, I found myself saying ” I see your upset, but We’re All Friends” or ” it’s ok We’re All Friends” or ” They may not want to play right now, but we’re still All Friends”
And that is how All Friends came to be.
For me it brings a since of community and inclusion

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Susan Seiguer. Founder, Director and teacher of All Friends Nature School. Growing up in rural Virginia, I had a pretty great childhood. Being able to be outside from sun up to sun down. Playing outside all day even on the rainy days. So much so that my childhood nickname was “pigpen”
My career path after school went down a few roads working in a law firm in Virginia to moving to CA and working in a law firm here for many years. It wasn’t until the birth of my first son in 2005 that I knew I wanted something different. For him and for myself. So I went back to school to study early childhood education and in 2007 the beginning of All Friends was born. In 2010 I wanted to dig deeper and ignite this fire I had inside so I continued learning through the Academy of Forest Kindergarten Teachers and continued growing with them for the next few years. Growing All Friends and becoming a board member of the CA Association of Forest Schools.
All Friends is place you will find an experiential learning, deep nature connection, community, inclusion and pure magic.
Once you come to All Friends you are a friend for life.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
It is said that the imitation is the best form of flattery however that may not always be the case in business. A few years back we had someone come to work with us. They were only there a couple of months. But long enough for them to gather all information that they needed to start their own business. Taking our information with them. This experience was very painful and built a lot of walls. But made us more aware, more resilient and really made us more grateful for conversations of intention.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
More than experience and education in the field, for me its connection and relationship building. You must be able to build those relationships in and out of your community to grow. And being genuine!
