Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Susan Loggins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Susan, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The story behind S.I.T.S. Haven is rooted in personal reflection, legacy, and a deep sense of purpose. I felt driven by my connection to my late mother Selina and felt a calling to empower and uplift women. My mom’s qualities of love, generosity, and faith left a lasting imprint on me. Which helped guide me towards a mission of compassion and encouragement.
The pivotal moment came when I inherited something precious from my mother, not just in a material sense, but as a symbolic torch to pass on—an opportunity to create something meaningful. In my daily mindfulness, prayer, and devotion, the word “RETREAT” consistently emerged. It wasn’t just a fleeting thought; it was a call to action, a vision that excited me and sparked endless possibilities.
This vision materialized into S.I.T.S. Haven, a place where I could honor my mother’s legacy by creating a sanctuary designed to help individuals recharge and realign. My journey was not without its challenges—from demolition and remodeling to the intricacies of designing a space that could truly inspire. But each step of the process brought me closer to a dream that was aligned with a personal mission: to create a haven of tranquility and renewal where others could find purpose.
It wasn’t about offering something completely new, but rather something deeply unique: a retreat infused with love, purpose, and the memory of a mother who believed in the power of compassion.
What excites me the most is knowing that S.I.T.S. Haven is more than just a physical space—it is a place of healing, designed to transform lives just as my own life has been transformed through my journey of creation and reflection offering me a blend of personal empowerment, spiritual growth, and community, making it not just a business, but a heartfelt mission.

Susan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m deeply passionate about creating spaces where people, especially women, can reconnect with their true selves, find peace, and rediscover their purpose. My mom instilled in me the importance of generosity and encouragement, values that have been at the heart of every step I’ve taken in this endeavor that lead to the journey of founding S.I.T.S. Haven (Star in the Sky (S.I.T.S.) the meaning of Selina my mothers name)
I wanted to create something that would honor her legacy, and through prayer, mindfulness, and devotion, I envisioned a sanctuary where individuals could come to renew their passion and purpose.
Our core offering is a retreat space designed to provide peace and rejuvenation. We cater to individuals seeking a break from the everyday hustle to focus on their inner well-being. Whether it’s through workshops, guided mindfulness sessions, or simply a quiet escape into nature, S.I.T.S. Haven is a place to recharge, realign, and reawaken.
We’re not just a retreat center; we’re also a versatile venue space designed to host events that inspire transformation and connection.
This emphasizes the dual purpose of S.I.T.S. Haven as both a retreat and an adaptable venue.
I’m most proud of the community we’ve built, where people feel truly seen and heard. There’s something special in the way our space encourages connection, not just with others, but within ourselves. I believe that everyone has a “star” within them, something that guides their inner purpose.
My goal is to provide a place where guests can transform, heal, and leave with a sense of peace and purpose.
Ultimately, what drives this belief is that everyone has the potential to shine, and at S.I.T.S. Haven, my hope is to create the environment to make that happen.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One story that truly illustrates resilience from my journey with S.I.T.S. Haven came during the renovation phase. The roadblock we encountered was that the minimal demolition we had initially planned for the Haven quickly escalated into much more than we had anticipated. What started as a simple remodel to create a few new spaces turned into a complete overhaul of parts of the building. Walls that we thought were structurally sound needed replacing, and unexpected issues with plumbing and electrical systems kept popping up.
It was a daunting situation, especially since we were working within a specific budget and timeline. Every new issue meant more time, more money, and more frustration. There were moments when I wondered if we could even continue. However, this challenge became a turning point for me. Instead of giving in to the overwhelm, I decided to focus on the bigger picture—why we were creating S.I.T.S. Haven in the first place. This wasn’t just a renovation; it was a labor of love, a mission to create a sanctuary where people could find peace and renewal.
With that in mind, I took the setbacks in stride. We adjusted, pivoted, and worked through each problem, one by one. I leaned into my faith and the support of those around me, trusting that this process, though difficult, was still leading us toward something greater.
In the end, the extra work allowed us to create an even better space than originally imagined. It was a true lesson in resilience—knowing that even when things seem to be falling apart, they can still come together in beautiful and unexpected ways.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
As a new business just starting out, building our audience on social media has been both a challenge and an exciting journey. In the beginning, we didn’t have a large following or much visibility, but I knew we had to start small and be intentional about every post and interaction. This is something I had learned through my coaching with YG Collaborations.
Focusing on telling our story—the heart behind S.I.T.S. Haven—and sharing our journey from the ground up. I posted updates about the renovation process a behind-the-scenes glimpses of creating the space. I feel this transparency allowed us to connect with people who resonated with our mission.
Collaborating with local influencers and businesses was another key strategy. By partnering with people who aligned with our values, we were able to reach new audiences and grow organically.
My advice for those just starting to build their social media presence would be:
Stay Authentic: Share your story, your values, and what makes your business unique. People are drawn to authenticity, and they want to feel a connection to what you’re building.
Engage, Don’t Just Post: Social media is about relationships, not just numbers. Respond to comments, ask questions, and create conversations with your audience.
Consistency is Key: Post regularly, even if you’re starting small. Consistency helps build trust with your audience and keeps your business on their radar.
Collaborate: Don’t be afraid to partner with influencers or other local businesses who align with your mission. These partnerships can help you reach a wider audience.
Be Patient: Building an audience takes time. Focus on building a community rather than just growing numbers, and the growth will come naturally.
Building our social media presence has been a rewarding part of our journey, and we’re excited to keep growing and connecting with people who believe in our vision.
Finally BELIEVE IN THE VISION!!
