We recently connected with Susan Dolan and have shared our conversation below.
Susan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The People’s Hub: Connecting Communities in the Digital Age
In the vast expanse of the internet, where cat videos reign supreme and social media algorithms dictate our feeds, a different kind of online space is emerging. It’s a space where connection is more than just a click, where community thrives beyond likes and shares, and where the power of collective action is harnessed for positive change. This is the story of The People’s Hub, an online platform that’s redefining what it means to be a community in the digital age.
The idea behind The People’s Hub was simple yet profound: to create a virtual space where people could connect, share skills, and build a stronger community from anywhere in the world. Sarah, a tech-savvy social entrepreneur, had witnessed the growing isolation in her own community, even amidst the hyper-connectivity of the internet. She envisioned a platform that could bridge the digital divide and foster genuine human connection in the online realm.
With a small team of passionate volunteers, Susan launched The People’s Hub in 2019. The platform was designed to be user-friendly and accessible, with a focus on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. They incorporated features like forums for discussion and groups for shared interests.
But The People’s Hub is more than just a collection of online tools. It’s a living, breathing community fueled by the energy and passion of its members. They organize virtual events like online workshops, webinars, and even virtual coffee chats to foster a sense of belonging and encourage meaningful interactions.
One of the most impactful initiatives at the Hub is the “Global Changemakers” program. This program connects individuals from different parts of the world who are passionate about social change. They collaborate on projects, share ideas, and support each other in their efforts to make a difference in their local communities.
The People’s Hub isn’t without its challenges. Maintaining a vibrant online community requires constant effort and engagement. But the team is committed to their mission, and they continue to find innovative ways to foster connection and empower their members.
The story of The People’s Hub is a reminder that even in the digital age, the need for community remains as strong as ever. It’s a testament to the power of human connection, a belief that together, we can build a better world, one click at a time.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
The People’s Hub is a global online community connecting people through skill-sharing and collaboration. We address the isolation often felt in our digital world by providing a platform for meaningful interaction, skill development, and social impact projects. We offer forums, groups, a virtual “Skills Share” program, and initiatives like “Global Changemakers.” Our focus on fostering genuine human connection and empowering individuals to share their passions sets us apart. We’re most proud of the vibrant, supportive community we’ve cultivated. We want potential members to know The People’s Hub is a place where they can find connection, learn, grow, and contribute to positive change.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Amy Varle and I met on international Womens day 2015 at a Pink Ladies event! We were both inspirational speakers. We became great friends and I helped her pro bono to help her address homelessness. Fortunately I spoke with the Prime Minister, Theresa May at a Downing Street party and mentioned Amy’s work. Amy presented her work to the Prime Minister and helped roll out Housing First in the UK.
