We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Surpass Flavor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Surpass below.
Hi Surpass, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Recently, the students at the North Engagement Center inside North High School started reading Reminding Me of Mo. It is meaningful to me that students from my Alma Mater will be learning about Mo’s life.
I’ve also been in the studio lately recording my first solo project in 9 years. It’s called Revivifying Contact. “Pizza Man” is the first single and will be released soon along with a article to match.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m 100% original. I don’t sound like anyone else and I don’t write like anyone else. Hip Hop is 50 but it’s also 46. Revivifying Contact is what Hip Hop sounds like at 46 within it’s 50th Anniversary, Back to the Future style. The meaning of Surpass Flavor. No matter what we surpass or ascend, we keep that flavor with us. Always.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Just the fact that it’s still fun. I attended a youth poetry reading recently and walked away so inspired. The future of art and performance is in good hands.

How did you build your audience on social media?
It’s not easy, that’s for sure, but I’m enjoying doing Flavor Fridays on Instagram. It’s a segment I do every Friday where I try to share experience, wisdom, or praise.
