Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to ” Superstar ” Symone . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
” Superstar “, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I did not particularly learn to do the craft it is a gift that I am continuously perfecting.
What I could have done to speed up the perfecting process as I’d say, was spend more hours singing and writing perhaps taking vocal lessons to be better regardless of how good I already feel like I am. I also studio record
Singing, my vocal skills.
Money is always the obstacle that stands in the way and/or to do anything you want to do it cost.

” Superstar “, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Singing is always something I’ve wanted to do so I was always trying to find my way into the industry. I am still constantly learning the business aspect of the industry. I have disciplined myself to at least try to work at my craft half of the week whether that be spending time writing music, performing somewhere or trying to find the correct way to market myself via social media. The other half Of the week I try to work to have the funds to pursue my craft.
So far right now I provide entertainment if someone needs birthday party weddings If consumers want to discover new music new singers of course they can find my music On digital streaming platforms.
I can’t really say that I have encountered any huge problems to have to solve at this point I will have to wait until wait until I cross that bridge to see how that’s going to work out but of course things will work out in my favor because No matter what the show must go on. I think I am set apart because I have Have the utmost empathy for what the people need entertainment wise, if they are coming to me for something I make sure To try to provide them exactly what they need and if I know that I can’t do that I can be up front about it and it is most appreciated by most clients They are still willing to work with what you can provide being that you are honest from the beginning.
I am most proud of the fact that I have released 2 eps and 4 singles 2 of them being Christmas songs without a team or a label just me randomly working hard to pursue & put myself out there.
I really want people to know I have 2 music projects out now in 2 years. The Real Symone Project & my newest & latest G.I.R.L. Goals in Real Life Ep. To add to that, how much hard work it takes to pursue a dream that doesn’t start off paying you rather you are paying for it, they may listen to my music and compare it to an A list artist and say it doesn’t sound the same, however, just know I am constantly striving to get to that point & its not easy, considering that I don’t have all Resources and tools that an A list artist has I am Doing exceptionally well.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Society should stop basing most things on who you know how much money you have to put you somewhere and the type of unorthodox things you have to do to get to the top. For example if you make it to a reality show why do you have to keep up negative drama in order to stay a cast member, otherwise your boring and moving on to the next? They are always saying how small the industry is, well then what we should do is broaden it, and not make it so small, so that The avenues to take don’t always have to be about who you know or how much money you have to do this or what bad things u can do to draw attention. I just wish there were more avenues created besides social media that artist can take to be discovered or exposed. Even having social media as an outlet to be seen they still don’t pay any attention unless you have hundreds of thousands of followers or mysteriously do something crazy to go viral.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn how to not just take people’s word for it when they say they are going to help you out or do anything for you towards your dream. Ultimately it’s your dream and it’s not as important to others as it is to you. When people used to say they will help me out I used to sit around and wait for that and I had to learn how not to do that because even if their intentions are good you just can’t wait around for people to help you pursue your own dream. The back story is I waited years for people who said they were going to show me things and help me and that set me back instead of having my own plan and just being grateful if people came aboard and really did what they said. Instead I waited and became angry and lost relationship from people not doing what they said they would. Finally, I realized I need to do push forward regardless of what people say they will do to help you better your career because most people are just talking.
