We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sunshine RA. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sunshine below.
Sunshine , appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
When it comes to life, one thing I suggest is that you take a risk on yourself. We are all given gifts, certain advantages, or things that just light our souls. There will come a time in life where opportunity will knock on the door, and most likely it will challenge you to change, think bigger, and even Ames some sacrifices. Make a plan and leap, and no it will not work out the way you planned but if you reach for a star I believe you’ll at least touch a cloud. Life continues to change, and the world we know around us does also. Make your mark, and be unapologetic while doing it!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
When I think back being a creative has been my entire life. My passions also lie in the healthcare and educational fields, but arts and fashion always rented space in my mind. On one end, I was studying biology and the other binge watching ANTM and doing runway in the hallways at home. After graduating college and accepting that the traditional medical system was no longer a desire I decided to chase another opportunity that was knocking on my door. After moving to Los Angeles, I had a 9-5 at a hospital along with maneuvering a new place and career. Coming from Warren, Ohio there was no way to prepare me for California as the pandemic that changed all our lives hit but a year after. Despite all the unexpected changes along with my own personal battles, I persevered. Now, as a recently signed supermodel I have a lot to learn and have been fortunate with the successes found thus far. From wining S1 Thickhouse with over a billion views to national commercials I am just getting started. Be on the lookout as you can expect me in film, music, writing, and other avenues soon. My love for the medical and educational fields remain as I partner with other likeminded people who want to change the way we educate our children and take care of ourselves and other humans around the world. In the end, I am making my mark with the gifts given to me and when you are ready, you will too!!! You will never have all the answers, and there is never a “perfect time” but what you can bank on is that there is only one you and failure only teaches you how to win!!!
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Society is changing and quickly. Businesses and technology are shifting the world we live in daily. Everyone is being forced to think differently, and those who choose not to will be left behind. So, if there is a time to think outside of the box it is now. This is the first time in history being a creative (the way it is shaping now) can sustain an entire family and more. Creatives are making deals, brands, and influence today has a price tag and a sale sign. In my opinion, the best thing you can do is believe in your ability and charge what you deserve. Time is valuable and even if the task seems easy or simple to you, you can make a sustainable income doing it. There are many ways to be a creative, so pick your lane and run. Society is doing the best it can, we are all being forced to change. In this moment, I think the best thing we can do as a species is listen to our youth and change with them. The gig economy is now running the game, and creatives are taking over. The traditional job and linear business model is gone and so if someone tells you they are a creative see what they are doing and if there is a way the two of you can make money together. At this point, the companies and people that will win are the ones that are adaptable and can keep up with the change and technology.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding thing about being a media mogul on this journey is influencing others. From messages and comments to having beautiful energy exchanges with people, it is all positive. No leader is perfect, and I only aim to be real. However, being able to help someone else on their path or be a role model and etc… it just reinforces you on your imperfect journey. As a young girl, seeing women like myself on television or ads and media was scarce. Look at what’s happening and for all people across the globe. It allows everyone to come together and look at the world through a new lens and yes it is scary for many but I believe it will solve all the problems we face today.
