We were lucky to catch up with Sunnie recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sunnie , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I’ve always been a creative, the problem was the fact that I’m multifaceted…I’m an Artist, UGC Content Creator , Business Owner , Podcast Host and YouTuber. About two years ago, I had started to take content creating more seriously. I was stuck on like 3K followers, but consistency has me about 40K (across social media) as of today.
When I saw my numbers jump like that, I took advantage. I am professionally a Marketing & Sales Manager so from there it was cake. I got on many platforms and did alot of free UGC content , Unboxing , ASMR you name it. After a few months of creating for free, I switched it up and started charging. That’s only the beginning…

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Whew. Where do I begin ? My first love was music. I was in ISSP (in school suspension), with a pen, comp book and a thesaurus. I wrote my first “smart rap” which I later recorded and it (along with many other songs) are posted on reverbnation – if you know , you know! I still do music, it’s a passion.
Along with music, I share the passion of helping others. I built my company, Sunnie Thee Light — because I’m lighting the way to good health, building the mindset and overall wellness. My journey alone was hard but because I knew the steps, I created a “one stop shop”.
I chose to do everything I love because why should I limit myself. I don’t want to be boxed in and I also love the idea of creating multiple streams of income. It can be draining, but I signed myself up for this. I complain sometimes – but I know in the end it will all pay off. Whether it’s music , UGC content . Freelance Work or someone simply buying my e-book it all comes from a passionate place. I love what I do.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Creating something that strangers will love.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Consistency. Simple and straight to the point. In order to grow on social media, just be present, always engage but most importantly be yourself. I know for a fact, you won’t find another Sunnie.
