We were lucky to catch up with Sunni Myers recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sunni, appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?

Gogh Create was created by a local Jacksonville artist and art teacher, Sunni Myers, who saw a need in the community for people of all ages to create art for art’s sake. She uses her skills as an artist to engage participants and encourage them to create something of their own! All people have the desire and love to create, Gogh Create allows people to enjoy making art and discovering their creative process together. With a customizable approach for all ages, people will be provided with the resources to help them create something and find joy!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Gogh Create uses a customizable approach to art instruction, by changing materials every few months. From painting with acrylics or watercolors, creating with clay or playing with printmaking, Gogh Create wants to let people experience the art making experience in new and fun ways. Along with new materials to choose from artists are encouraged to bring their own inspiration to each workshop allowing for each person to create something that is as unique as their style.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Gogh Create is a business that allows for people of all ages to simply have fun and create something new. By pairing our classes with other local businesses like breweries and tap houses this creates an atmosphere for artists to relax, unwind and perhaps step outside their comfort zone. Gogh Create tries to promote a creative environment to practice art making through encouragement and guidance for all of their clients.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Word of mouth is definitely our best source for new clients. Having people who have attended an event tell their friends and family about their experience. Or better yet having those artists bring their loved ones with them to another event to show them that experience! It is really wonderful to have artists who continue returning time and time again to workshops!
