Founded in 2015 by makeup artist and social media influencer, Summer D’on Bell, formally known as Summer D’on. The company is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. D’on was influenced by her mother Desma and grandmothers, through their daily beauty routines and collections of makeup. After discovering a new passion for all things makeup and beauty, she became a self-taught makeup artist and beauty YouTuber with her first makeup tutorial debuting in 2013. The Georgia native later went off to study Spanish and Business Management at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she was able to use her background of entrepreneurship and previous makeup artistry to officially launch her self-titled cosmetics company, D’on Cosmetics in 2020.
At D’on Cosmetics, we strive to create a culture of inclusivity by celebrating diversity and promoting self-expression through makeup. As a startup in a highly competitive industry, we knew that we had to go above and beyond to make our brand stand out. We had to be strategic, agile, and willing to adapt to the constant change of the market conditions.
My passion for beauty and making others feel good was the driving force behind the creation of D’on Cosmetics. I started as a freelancer, honing my craft and gaining valuable experience in the beauty industry. My vision has always been to create a brand that not only offered high-quality products but also promoted inclusivity, diversity, and self-expression.
