We were lucky to catch up with Sulo King recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sulo, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
Originally I wanted to become a fitness trainer with a specialty in nutrition counseling but instead decided to become a health and wellness coach and work for an integrative medical clinic.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I I started working for a holistic and integrative medical center in La Jolla called Pacific Pearl La Jolla as a health and wellness coach in 2020. It was in the midst of the pandemic that I decided to make the career shift from being a small business owner and working in the music industry to working in healthcare. It was a scary transition at first but once I found my grooveI really carved out a wonderful career that I have come to love and be proud of.
As a health and wellness coach I specialize in nutrition, fitness, lifestyle improvement, neurotherapy and life coaching. I work alongside some really talented health practitioners such as cardiologists, functional medical doctors, naturopathic doctors, a chiropractor and accupuncturist. For those unfamiliar with what integrative medicine combines both conventional western and eastern medical therapies together. We not only treat the medical problem as is but we help prevent the problem from happening at all.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
It really boils down to how you treat your clientele. I always make them feel welcomed and comfortable and most importanly cared about. I want you to know that I genuinely want to see you reach your health goals no matter what. I love bringing out the best in our patients.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
One of the most inspiring courses I took was from IIN – the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. It was so eye opening and innovative. It really taught me not only how to help further treat clients / patients but how to also take care of myself and be in tune with my mind, body and spirit. I also really resonated with my life coaching course I took from the Academy of Modern Applied Achology. It further enhanced my belief that in order to properly connect with someone you really need to put yourself in their shoes.
