We recently connected with Suleika Luna and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Suleika, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

Since I was young, I’ve always been interested in all things that push me to create. From painting, writing, acting and even jewelry making. As I got older, I tried to take a more serious approach and it didn’t fulfill me as much as my creative hobbies did. I’ve love following artist and lifestyle creators on YouTube and thought if they can do it why can’t I? So I stopped overthinking about it and a little over a year ago, started taking my content creating seriously.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Hey to you reading this, I’m Suleika Luna and I’m a content creator by the name of Sulu Luxe Life (it’s a play on ‘love’ life) and I enjoy sharing my love of luxury goods, lifestyle vlogs and just making the simple things into a luxury experience. Growing up, I’ve always had an eye for quality and fashion caught my attention because it’s an expressive way to let the clothes do the talking. It’s something I’ve learned and want to share with likeminded individuals.

YouTube is literally a platform for everything and everyone. I’m not gonna lie I was very self conscious about uploading my first video, it was a long vlog and the next one was an art video. I didn’t do well and gave up on becoming a studio vlogger. It wasn’t till over a year ago, I decided to just share everything I love and take it seriously and most importantly be consistent about it.

At first it was for fun and it also helps that my best friend (shoutout to LativiaP she’s also a content creator who introduced me to this interview. Love ya best Fran!) also gave me kind words of encouragement and we’ll bounce ideas from one another that helped get me to where I am today. I’m also grateful for the support I get from returning viewers and my Lovelies who subscribed and believe in my channel.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to unlearn to give up and stay consistent. Creating SuluLuxeLife is my third attempt on YouTube and it’s the longest I’ve been consistent. As I’ve mentioned before, I had an art channel and I know I was overthinking it and was my worst critic. The second time was a sister channel called Lunas on the Rise. I was one of the reasons why it wasn’t as successful as it honestly could’ve been. We even had a viral moment on TikTok during the pandemic. After some time went by and I was growing bored and depressed with my 9 to 5, I had ideas and I couldn’t post on that channel without consulting with my sisters so I deleted the few art videos I had and Sulu Luxe Life was born!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Financial Freedom is one goal. It be nice to get paid doing projects I’m already passionate about. If I’m a be stressing over work, I want it to be happy stress. Like ‘The Devil wears Prada’ Emily, I will cry loving my job. I’m a creative being and I love that I have control on what I edit, record and share both on my social media and my channel and it’s always changing, updating and evolving at its own pace. It’s exciting.

And the driving goal, is to create content that will grow a community of individuals that have the same passions as me. To share my journey of accepting and creating luxuries in simple things we sometimes overlook and the practices of self love. To create an ambiance to motivate, inspire and reassure my Lovelies how beautifully worthy they are to a Luxe Life.
