We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sukantti . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sukantti below.
Sukantti , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you’ve thought about whether to sign with an agent or manager?
I have been living in LA for 7 years and in New York 2 years and I haven’t been able to sign with an agent for film. I’ve had representation just for commercials. It’s pretty interesting how the opportunity comes for each actor. I have sent several emails throughout the years to agents and agencies. I know that the agent or agency that will be perfect for me will come in the perfect time.
Sukantti , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am from Coro, Venezuela, a very small town, not developed where there weren’t opportunities to work in the entertainment industry, so at 17 years old I left my home and went to start working in the major tv channel in the capital of Venezuela: RTCV, where I was picked by executives to study acting and start working with them after I did an audition in a singing contest, my audition created a lot of controversy and they liked my craft. Not long after; the government of Venezuela closed the channel because they were exposing the news about what was happening in. Venezuela with the dictatorship, so I decided to finish a bachelor in business administration and then I went to New York to study in a conservatory musical theater and acting for film. After completing the conservatory, I did some off broadway musicals and then moved to Los Angeles, where I’ve been auditioning for film and developing my music independently. I have also done some movie musicals with American film institute.
I currently produce my own content where I film very inspired and motivated, in the genre of fantasy. I work very hard on my craft. I love it!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I’ve been back and forth between Venezuela and Los Angeles during 2020 and 2022, because my mother was battling cancer. She past away last November 2022. The most difficult part was being alone with her and helping her recovering of chemotherapies while the world was completely lock down. It was very challenging mentally and emotionally, plus seeing my country more deteriorated because of the dictatorship.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
To fulfill my desires of doing fantasy films and movie musicals, as well as inspiring people from my country that desires can come true.
