We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Suburbiana Brixx a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Suburbiana , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
One day my (now) husband suggested that I learned to DJ, and that he would be able to teach me. He suggested that I would learn because Kansas City at the time didn’t showcase events with a male and female duo. I went for it and the rest is history.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I broke into the DJ business by wstarting out doing small events like poetry slams , birthday parties and hip hop showcases. The type of business I offer is being a DJ for almost any kind of event. I also Model. What sets me apart from rest is I bring my own style of sounds to a party I bring new school with a mix of old school nostalgia. Also my husband and I co-operate together.
I’m most proud of learning something new from something I love , and making a successful career out it.
The main thing I want my fans/followers to know is there is more to come from Suburbiana and Snaccpacc LLC has so many projects on the way. So be on the look out to watch the whole journey.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
A story of my resilience comes from about a year into me dj’ing Covid hit, and everything shut down. I wasn’t sure when I was going to be able to go back to working. In that time I was able to use my best creativity. I went live I was able to gain followers , and new clients. I say that to say this, never give up even when the most unexpected obstacles come continue to stay focused on your main goal, and success will follow.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes the mission will always be the same for me. It’s to always become a better me.
