Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Subuhi Farooqui And Amna Farooqui. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Subuhi Farooqui and Amna Farooqui , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
When we started this brand back in 2017, we both definitely used to ask family, friends and acquaintances to give our page a follow and like our posts since we were new to the business and needed support from our people.
We definitely got appreciation and support from our family and friends.
We firmly believe in ‘word of mouth’, thus our motto is to maintain quality of our products and customer satisfaction!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Cakemyyday, Khi and HTX, LLC is a home based bakery business started back in 2017 with a minimalistic setup and less capital.
Owned by Subuhi Farooqui (mother) and Amna Farooqui (daughter) based in Karachi, Pakistan.
Subuhi was always up to make creative stuff and did some courses way before her wedding.
Fast forward to 2017, she started making cakes and decorating them for family and friends, she’d casually bake and decorate cakes and take them to any family gathering or any wedding function as a gift.
That’s when she thought to start a cake business, she did it with less capital and limited resources. Amna (her daughter) me, joined my mom while completing my bachelors in Human Resources. That’s how we started this little brand and we are so proud of where it has come.
So, I (Amna) got married and shifted to the US and that’s how we got two locations to operate from, all praise to Allah.
The business is successfully operating and growing in Pakistan as well as in the United States.
We offer 100% Halal customised cakes, cupcakes, brownies, cookies and mini shooters.
What set us apart is our goal, we use quality ingredients and hygiene is a priority in our kitchen.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Honestly, whatever business it is you definitely need to give it your time, hard work, dedication and ofcourse capital
It will definitely take you time to grow and make a social media presence but look out for innovative ideas, take inspiration from Pinterest and even AI, create trending reels but don’t forget to maintain the quality of the products you offer!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Customer satisfaction is the only strategy we look up to.
We definitely used social media marketing as a tool for example we’ve run adds on Instagram, used Public relations package (PR) as they can help increase brand awareness, social media engagement, build relationships with influencers.
