We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stylish Ambassadors a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Stylish thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

I am a woman in my early thirties strong, determined, sincere, hard-working, creative and yet talented. My father calls me Chidinma Lucy Kalu, but I go by the social name Alex Chidinma. I am the brain and their hands behind the Stylish Ambassadors. Well, I just have very little to say about the mission of my brand Stylish Ambassadors. Life was alot easier financially for me when I was growing up, but at a certain stage in my life it became quite difficult, and every blessed day I saw myself creating and making different kinds of items, drawing, singing etc. In fact I could do a lot of things that made me appear extremely talented and creative. My friends call me “jack of all trade; master of all, because I am virtually good in everything I do.

But then the greatest challenge here was to showcase what I do, and to be able to make money using what I can do with my hands, and also how to raise the capital to start up. Because of the stress I had to go through to build Stylish Ambassadors, I then thought and felt I could help people who are just like me, to earn financial stability using your talents, skills, and creativity.

So what came to my mind was not only building Stylish Ambassadors as a brand where people can come in and train for free, but also a place where people can stay for free while using our facilities to make money for themselves. Stylish Ambassadors went down again to create a supposed biannual contest between tailors in Nigeria where the winners from the male and female side gets a package that will enable them set themselves up. Attached to this competition is an exhibition where exhibitors are allowed to showcase their products, services, artworks and most likely opportune to sell them to the public.
So here is the main thing, the mission of Stylish Ambassadors is to be a world-class fashion and creative home that selects, equips, and rewards talents & creativity, while showcasing the Nigeria’s creative industry to the whole world.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Well, like I earlier said my calls me Chidinma Lucy Kalu, but I go by the social name Alex Chidinma. By the special grace of God, I am a Lawyer, a fashion designer, a model, a music artist and a social media influencer.

I am not in anyway aiming for fame, els we I would have been there a long time ago.
Rather, my focus is about changing and touching lives.
Luckily, this path I have chosen is a very difficult one. Working for the success of many when you are yet to be successful.

Well the main thing is this; reach out to me if you wish to be a model for Stylish Ambassadors, if you want to be a trained fashion designer/stylist, if you want to contest for the position of the King/Queen of Styles Nigeria, or if you want Stylish Ambassadors to occasionally style/make dresses & costumes for you.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

If not for anything else, I enjoy that aspect of my life where I can dress up well and also do same for my kids, and alot of people admire our dresses. Secondly, it helps us not to appear hungry or say vulnerable.

You know, it is very uneasy for single mothers to live a comfortable life with their children. In fact it looks like impossible for a single mother to fend for her children.

So being in this area, like being into this creative, talent and entertainment industry have actually covered us. We look outstanding, we always look beautiful, we always look good, we look admirable so it’s hard for people to look down on us even when we don’t have it, and deep down we even know we’re struggling.
