Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stryfe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Stryfe, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
The band is formed by four people, and our creative work and passion are what bind us. The direction that we’ve chosen is not part of the current mainstream in the music industry which makes it particularly difficult to make ends meet by simply carrying out the project itself. For this reason we all have full time “regular” jobs. These jobs also serve as a means to invest money into the band–to hopefully make it a full time job for all of us in the future.

Stryfe, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Stryfe is a heavy metal band. Our job is to create the best music we can to inspire people to become better versions of themselves. We spend a lot of our time working through writing and recording the material and are proud to have released our debut album which is available on all major streaming platforms. The name of the album is Cursed Theatre, and we’re delighted to share it with everyone.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
In today’s digitized world, it’s difficult for artists because there’s so much competition out there. On one hand, artists need to produce exceptional quality and originality in order to stand out, and on the other hand, society needs to play a greater role in supporting artists they enjoy by the means of going to shows, purchasing merchandise, and helping spread the word.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Creating and playing music helps us overcome psychological pressures that seem to burden everyone in today’s society. Our music gives us an outlet for self-reflection, which makes us stronger as individuals. There are times when you are unable to express yourself completely through conversation — our music allows us to express ourselves wholly and totally.
