We recently connected with Stevie Delacruz and have shared our conversation below.
Stevie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Being a successful business owner is one of the most rewarding feelings and especially knowing you’re tied to an ethical purpose that continues to grow. I’ve worked a regular job for about 5 years and that was enough for me to realize I should be building my own empire and building wealth to where I can be the one to provide others with amazing opportunities to where they don’t feel so confined and unhappy in their work position. However, I am more than grateful to have been able to experience life through a regular job because there’s something about that humbling experience that makes you appreciate your successful moments even more and helps you understand how hard everyone is really working just to live comfortably. Sometimes we take these things for granted which is why I consistently remind myself how that path has benefited me in ways such as developing discipline, building social skills, understanding business structure and studying how the economy revolves. That is another thing I’d like to advise anyone with a desire of building a business. Study each of your jobs as much as possible and find creative ways to implement certain elements from that job into your own projects.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Stevie Delacruz and I created this mysterious company called “Blu Side Studios” back in 2020 which is now growing each and every single day. Our purpose in this brand is to bring awareness to mental health and secure those battling their darkest times. We aim to achieve this purpose through our various types of content from music production, music education, photography, videography, modeling, events and clothing production. We take pride in being able to professionally execute each and every single creative task while still remaining loyal to our purpose in helping others develop and grow to be their strongest selves. We will always welcome our followers with open arms and an opportunity to release some weight off their shoulders and talk to one of us for whatever they’re going through. We encourage those suffering the most to lean on us as we guide them out of the dark and I couldn’t of asked for a better position to be in.
Any advice for managing a team?
Being a CEO is not easy. Being a leader is not something you’re naturally born with. Being the one on top of the ladder is not a quick task. In order to have a successful business, I knew for a fact there were some character attributes I had to adopt in order to effectively keep that snowball effect building. I was actually an introvert growing up and still like to consider myself one but now I’ve just become a social introvert that has studied multiple strategies that has allowed me to lead an amazing team. Managing a team is a 24/7 job. We have over 50 members and it is my job to continually distribute my attention evenly amongst all members to avoid ostracizing anyone. As time progressed, I learned how to duplicate myself which is the best thing I could’ve ever learned as a business man. On top of that, I had to understand the fact that since this is my company, I also have to be my own justice system to keep a fair playing ground for our members. Despite my enigmatic presence and aura of mystery to the public, I try my best to make myself known on a personal level to my team and build healthy camaraderies in which i’ve learned that it helps keep a more family-like brand and in conclusion, I’m very proud of each of our members and I will do my best to progress them to the best of my abilities and prove to them how successful we will become in this world. All I could ever ask for is patience in me as I continuously learn how to be a better leader each and every single day.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
One of my biggest blessings and flexes is the fact that I made this my full time career. I’ve reached the point of not having to depend on another company for finance and it’s an empowering feeling. I actually first starting out with just teaching guitar. From there i slowly starting picking up other skills such as sound engineering, music production, singing, sewing, photography, etc. and then I just started finding ways to make money off of each of those skills. Scaling up is what really helped me out and being able to have a team by my side to help execute even more jobs. Now my goal is to eventually help our members reach financial freedom through their desired position in the company and be able to work in Blu Side Studios full time just like me.
