Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Steven Simmons. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Steven , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
So “Soulley” is a name I created, but it’s just word of solely revise, but it reflects you. i’m a firm believer that things happen for a reason and if so, it’s solely intended for you just like life if you examine a problem as an obstacle, you can have more success in life. I learned that once I graduated college since then I’ve been working on myself to find out what makes Steven, Steven. I worked on my traumas, angers, mindset, etc… So has began to search to find my soul, so there was a point where I realized I never really had a nickname so I gave myself a nickname and that’s how I came up Soulley. That may bring us a lot of joy some misunderstanding because they don’t really innerstand to understand. But if you’re true to you, it’s “solely” meant for you.

Steven , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was an ex-collegiate track & field athlete that just so happened to be a creative genius naturally. I found myself downloading Adobe one day and started creating my clone effect by taking pictures on my iphone, this was around fall 2021 in Florida. Most of my poses in my projects are usually shot in one or two takes. I am the photographer and editor. I’m precise with how I want the poses to be and also two of the outfits a lot of people say how do I get these poses and pictures if I’m the one taking the picture. Sometimes I laugh while saying I do both because I already see the picture taken in my head and I just go create it. I create what I already seen.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
When I graduated college I had to learn that my accolade spoke for me, but I never knew myself. I had to let go of my old self to find the person that got the opportunity for this interview. I realize that I’m an artist, but the life back then can never be unlearned. I say that because with the information that i know now, if I didn’t know what I knew would I still be the same person? I don’t believe in failures. I look at accomplishments and lessons. I see lessons because once you know how to overcome it is it a failure that is not an option because doesn’t exist unless you wanted to exist so with unlearning something or something I really can’t do..

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I would say referencing and tagging on social medias those two along generates traffic to have a suggestions and first person experience.
