We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Steven Foster. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Steven below.
Hi Steven, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
In the timeline of the bands history, our album “Aphrodesia” was the most impactful record we released due to the production quality and songwriting. Of course, the most meaningful project is always the last one, and that feeling carries over to the next one! Currently we are practicing for live performances in 2025.

Steven, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Our band Shotgun Soul started coming together as early as high school, but formed officially when David Bodanyi and Liz Girard met and began jamming and playing live. Long-time friends and band mates Jesse Wozniak, Jeff Wilton, Steven Foster, Jason Mossburger, Daryl Bean, and Bill #billieve Kunz, are multi-instrumentalists, and our intuitions have evolved in the same spaces and appreciation for musical tastes. The business for any creative can be tedious but is necessary to further the venture. We have played music venues and festivals all over Michigan, and license our original music globally for commercial use.
I think what I want people to know about us is that we genuinely love what we do, and agree that music is an important part of life because it unites people in a world that would rather divide and berate you with squirrely ideals.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Imagery and product can get you so far as it’s quality not quantity. When you are happy in your work it reflects in what you share online. Doing anything for the wrong reasons comes across to an audience and will turn them off to your work.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Seeing your work manifested into the world! The arts are severely underfunded in our schools, yet are an important part of understanding other humans. Not to say that everyone needs to pursue art as a business, but even learning an instrument or improving your technique is just healthy brain activity. The world doesn’t need more lawyers or investment bankers, we need poets!!
