Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Steven Elias. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Steven thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
From Idea to Execution: The Journey of JASE Designs
When people see a finished sign, a custom banner, or a perfectly installed decal, they often see the final product—but they don’t see the journey behind it. The story of JASE Designs is a story of turning an idea into action, embracing hard work, and building something meaningful for my family and future.
JASE Designs began with a simple passion for creating. I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands, solving problems, and bringing ideas to life. What started as an interest in vinyl decals and custom graphics slowly grew into something bigger. I realized there was an opportunity to help businesses, organizations, and individuals transform their ideas into professional, eye-catching products.
Unlike many entrepreneurs who immediately jump into business full-time, I still work a traditional full-time “9 to 5” job. Building JASE Designs has meant dedicating evenings, weekends, and countless late nights to growing the business. There have been times when balancing work, family, and business felt overwhelming, but every project completed and every satisfied customer reminded me why I started.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success doesn’t come from having a great idea alone. Many people have ideas, but execution is what separates dreams from reality. Building JASE Designs required taking action—investing in equipment, learning new skills, making mistakes, and continually improving. Every challenge became an opportunity to learn and grow.
Over time, JASE Designs expanded beyond simple decals. Today, we offer custom signage, banners, die-cut stickers, apparel, and a variety of promotional products. Every new service came from listening to customer needs and finding ways to provide more value. Growth didn’t happen overnight, but through consistency, persistence, and a commitment to quality.
While I’m proud of the products we create, the true purpose behind JASE Designs goes much deeper. My goal has always been to build something that can continue growing while teaching my children valuable life lessons. I want them to understand the importance of entrepreneurship, responsibility, hard work, and perseverance. I want them to see that success is earned through dedication and that opportunities can be created rather than simply found.
As a father, one of the most rewarding parts of this journey is being able to show my kids what it looks like to pursue a dream. They get to witness the long hours, the problem-solving, the customer interactions, and the satisfaction that comes from building something from the ground up. Those lessons are worth far more than any financial success alone.
The road from idea to execution is never a straight path. There are setbacks, unexpected challenges, and moments of uncertainty. However, every obstacle has strengthened my determination and reinforced my belief that growth comes from persistence. JASE Designs exists today because of a willingness to keep moving forward, even when the path wasn’t clear especially with the help and support from my wife, Angie Elias.
Looking ahead, my vision is simple: continue growing JASE Designs, continue serving customers with excellence, and continue creating opportunities for my family. The journey is far from over, but every sign, decal, banner, and project completed represents another step forward.
JASE Designs is more than a business in my eyes. It’s proof that with passion, hard work, and consistent execution, an idea can become a reality. And perhaps most importantly, it’s an opportunity to leave a legacy of entrepreneurship, responsibility, and determination for the next generation.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I am the owner of JASE Designs, a custom graphics and signage company specializing in vinyl decals, banners, signs, die-cut stickers, and apparel. While I am passionate about growing my business, I still work a full-time job and operate JASE Designs during evenings, weekends, and any free time I can find.
I’ve always enjoyed creating things and finding ways to turn ideas into reality. What started as a hobby and creative outlet eventually became a business built on hard work, determination, and a commitment to quality. As both a business owner and a father, I’m motivated by the opportunity to build something meaningful while teaching my children the value of entrepreneurship, responsibility, and perseverance.
Like any entrepreneur, I’ve faced my share of challenges. One of the biggest has been balancing a full-time career, family life, and a growing business. There have been long nights, early mornings, and moments where it felt like there simply weren’t enough hours in the day. I’ve also experienced the uncertainty that comes with running a small business—investing in equipment, learning new skills, making mistakes, and figuring out how to continually improve while serving customers at the highest level.
Another challenge has been learning that growth doesn’t happen overnight. Building a reputation takes time, and every customer interaction matters. There have been projects that didn’t go as planned and lessons learned the hard way, but each obstacle helped me become a better business owner and strengthened my commitment to continuous improvement.
What am I most proud of? It’s not a specific sign, banner, or decal. I’m most proud that I had the courage to take an idea and turn it into something real. I’m proud that JASE Designs is growing through hard work, dedication, and customer trust. Most importantly, I’m proud that my children can watch that journey unfold and see firsthand what can be accomplished through persistence and determination.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for JASE Designs has been word-of-mouth referrals and social media. When I first started, I relied heavily on friends, family, (still do) and local connections to help spread the word. As I completed more projects, satisfied customers began recommending my business to others, which has been invaluable. Social media has also played a major role by allowing me to showcase my work, connect with potential customers, and build credibility within the community. My amazing wife runs that part of the business as well.
One thing I’ve learned is that quality work and good customer service are the best forms of marketing. When customers have a great experience, they often return for future projects and refer others to JASE Designs. Those relationships have been a key factor in helping my business continue to grow while I balance running the company alongside my full-time job.

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
I manufacture all of my products in-house and do not outsource production. From the beginning, I wanted to have complete control over the quality, turnaround times, and customer experience. Producing everything myself allows me to ensure that every decal, sign, banner, sticker, and custom project meets the standards I have set for JASE Designs.
When I started the business, I didn’t already know how to manufacture everything. Like many entrepreneurs, I learned through research, training videos, hands-on experience, and a lot of trial and error. There was definitely a learning curve, but I was committed to mastering the equipment, materials, and production processes. I’m still learning to this day.
Finding reliable vendors was also an important part of the journey. I spent time researching suppliers, comparing products, testing different materials, and building relationships with companies that consistently provided quality products and dependable service. Over time, I developed a network of trusted vendors that help me deliver professional results to my customers.
Manufacturing everything in-house has been one of the most rewarding parts of owning JASE Designs because it allows me to take an idea from concept to finished product while maintaining the quality and attention to detail that my customers expect.
