We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Steveé Searra a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Steveé, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I am hoping to build a legacy of love. I have learned in my 33 years of life that leading with love will yield a fulfilling life. I think that once I am gone people will say that I lead a life full of love and positivity. I think people will say that I brought happiness and joy to the world around me. I hope to be remembered for spreading love and encouraging love for self and others.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have been a professional nail artist for 16years and counting. I have always taken a liking to designing nails since I was a kid. As I prepared to go away to college to study medicine in hopes of becoming a pediatrician; I went to nail school as a way to earn money on campus. This quest developed into a full-time professional nail career. I specialize in all phases of healthy nail care and enhancements. However, customer service is where I thrive. My clients absolutely love me. Not only because I produce quality work but also because I provide quality connection. Many of my clients refer to their nail appointments as “nail therapy” and you guessed it, I am their therapist. I am a safe space for my clients to express their thoughts and emotions. I feel honored and proud to provide a personal yet professional help to many women and men. My Transparency is what makes me so relatable to my clients.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A vital life lesson that I had to unlearn was internalizing the negative opinions and projections of others towards me. I spent many important years of my life being influenced by what my family and friends thought of me. This held me back personally and professionally. I developed a fear of success due to this and I did not utilize my fullest potential as a result. Now that I have learned to be my own judge, I am able to be a more authentic creator and entrepreneur. I believe it is imperative for any entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur to cultivate a supreme self confidence in order to achieve the ultimate success story.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
As I previously mentioned, I initially became a licensed nail technician as a way to earn extra money in college. My dream career since age five was to become a doctor. My amazing experience with my own pediatrician helped me to narrow it down. Once I graduated high school, I immediately went to college. I majored in biology with a pre-med concentration. College was challenging for me. I struggled to maintain good grades and ultimately I was dismissed from my college. At this point I had to pivot. I then decided to commit more time and attention to my nail career. And it began to grow exponentially. My business has been successful and steadily growing ever since.
