We recently connected with Steve Todd and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Steve thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In order for me get to where I am at today it took me everything. I made a lot of sacrifices in my life to get to what I have today. It’s not all easy and overnight success like some may say. It takes a lot of structure being applied to your everyday life and your business. Struggle is necessary to get you to want to really push for success and if you’re not willing to lose you can’t gain. Keep a structured mind set and you can get to the success you want to gain.
Steve , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I built a junk removal company called 2 Much Junk?. This company was made to help provide great customer service to all of our client’s. I came up with the idea when I worked for a major waste management company and seen how they treated their customers. I started to learn how the process of waste management worked and thought how can I do it better for my customers. I quit my job with barely any money to my name and started 2 Much Junk?. A company that can come into customers homes and help them remove any unwanted items they may have.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
A moment that I had was when I first started 2 Much Junk? I had no money barely to my name. I called up my wife to tell her that I quick my job and had no idea what I was doing next. She stood by my side and worked through this struggle with me. She took care of everything while I created 2 Much Junk?. I started 2 Much Junk? In March of 2024 and honestly didn’t know what it would become but now I made it further then I ever thought I would of in this time frame.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
So for my marketing I did everything myself. When you have no money to your name you have to think cheap but affective at the same time. When I quit my job it took me 9 months to start 2 Much Junk? I looked up every cheap way to get my name out there so I thought well since everyone drives everywhere and is on there phones what will be the best thing to get there attention? I made yard signs from scratch to every color that was on them and how bold I wanted the writing to be. Then I thought ok Facebook is another big thing so I made a business paged and joined free groups to get my page out. I was nervous not knowing what these two means of advertising would do but I put my faith into them and just trusted they would work.
