We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Steve Soule a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Steve, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Since day one, I have always strived to deliver more than the industry standard. Preparation in our industry(ceramic coating and paint protection film) is critical to delivering the best and longest lasting results for our customers and we always work to be the best in preparation and execution of our services so our customers receive the highest level end product.

Steve, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I had been involved in professional detailing as a young man in the late 1980’s and into the early 90’s, as the owner of a small mobile detailing service. In 2014 I returned to the industry, after leaving a position in the corporate world that was very unsatisfying. I wanted to be in a position where I could provide a service that allows me to take pride and find personal satisfaction in the work I perform. My company offers, paint correction(polishing) ceramic coatings, heat rejection window tinting and paint protection film. I love that the services we offer not only make peoples vehicles look better but also protect them longer and help prevent costly damage. Our work is highly rewarding and seeing how happy our clients are with the end result makes it even better. The shop has a reputation for high quality and extreme customer service. Everyone in the shop takes pride in the work we perform and seeing customers pick up the cars excited about our work. We also work to provide accurate up front information about our services and how the benefit the client along with frequent updates during the process. The shop mantra is to “under promise and over deliver” in the every aspect of what we do.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Managing a team of employees definitely requires a lot of pre planning and coordination. My best advice is to hire quality people. Not necessarily the most qualified or experienced but more hiring people the can be grown and cultivated into the best employees. In my experience, providing a great work environment, with proper reward s systems for employee growth, not only in terms of work performance but also compensation and reward for personal and professional growth. I like to keep the working environment fun and relaxed while maintaining the focus on the work we perform and quality we promise.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Though I’m sure this will sounds cliche, always striving to provide the highest level of customer service and working to be the very best at what we do has helped develop a string following of loyal customers who not only trust us completely with their vehicles but also refer their friends. This has helped us build a business that is more resilient during challenging economic times.
