Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Steve Radmall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Steve, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
When I first started at age 15 I did not know I would continue to make my art for this long, it wasn’t until 2 years into making music that I noticed while doing it, it would help my mental immensely no matter what feeling I would be feeling at the time, at that moment that’s when I started taking things more professionally with what I do.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I always had a hard time dealing with my emotions ever since I started talking as a toddler. It got progressively worse throughout the years of growing and no matter who I talked to about it, I could never help it. There was a time I turned to prescription drugs in my nose to get rid of the ominous feeling I always had shadowing me, but short after I realized that was not the life I wanted to head down so I stopped. I tried therapy with a stranger that didn’t care to know me at all and that alone made me crave for isolation away from people but I surrounded myself with friends that all had different to similar trauma just like I did from my past. Two of them turned to music and told me that, that really helped them and maybe if I started doing it even as for fun for the first two years that it could eventually help me, or better help the people that listen to it and can relate to it in some shape or form. That’s all I would like to do from now on, is to help the people emotionally that needs it through music.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect for me is when I release something not knowing the effect it has on people and then they reach out and tell me exactly how they feel about it wether it be positive or negative, I love it honestly.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Do little things they are already doing for celebs, Idols, etc. You know just doing the minimum of liking a song/post maybe commenting and sharing, it helps more than people think and it’s the easiest things to do to help support!
