We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Steve Kibe a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Steve, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
They say when coming up with a brand its a marathon not a sprint and Stetikmind is exactly that. Started from humble beginnings, derived from my full names, nurtured in an entrepreneurial family & environment, God-given. Blessed.
Over the years i have developed numerous identities, gained insight from critics & mentors till i settled with the one i have now. ( i must say i can’t change it for a ticket to SpaceX )
My belief, If you want a successful brand or brand activity, it must start with Stetikmind ( Haha) and for Stetikmind to execute this and even get more clients, it needed to collaborate & create partnerships with industry shapers and makers and thats where it got to where it is now and has a long way to go. And as it does thereby lifting upcoming creatives through mentorship programmes. Knowledge is meant to be passed on to ensure continuity and growth just as DNA is data shared from generation to generation ( Per say )

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Stephen Mutitu Kibe but in the creative and digital world… I am Steave Tito. The creative industry chose me and i have just been a confident messenger and practitioner of Design. I love it!
I started off as an Illustrator for local magazines, transitioned to the E-commerce industry and later introduced to FMCG where i learned marketing and trends, production, strategy , projections and where design fits in all that.
Stetikmind offers mostly BRAND STRATEGY. What this simply means is you give us your idea and we express it visually through logos, products, marketing collaterals, typography and color palette thereafter we define the brand voice & tone through various marketing strategies in either social media, advertising or Press ( What is termed as Creative Direction )
Stetikmind’s slogan is DESIGN & BEYOND. We pride ourselves with above & beyond services that are not only market relevant but posses the ability to give the client the feeling they have of their brand..visually. We raise our glasses every time a client is beyond satisfied when we execute their idea into reality.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Unfortunately, the industry, especially the local market does not value or give credit to the role creatives play in making sure that a product is seen and bought, a service is appreciated, a brand recognised.
Over the 10 years Stetikmind has been in business has mostly been focussing on setting its own path, made mistakes, recovered, merged with other companies, later un-merged. Most people give up or deviate to other quick growing businesses but not for Steave Tito. in Swahili they say ” Kukufa nayo nayo ” what this means in my firm is…no late payments, no production issues, no challenge shall stop Stetikmind from growing to where it needs to be.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met my first co-founder when i started being conscious of where my gift/talent came from, and when I went to His house I started appreciating it more and more. Without Him, i wouldn’t be here talking to CanvasRebel.com. I thank Him every day.
