Hi Steve, thanks for joining us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for giving us the opportunity to share the inspiring story of HomeStrong Fitness with your audience! Let me take a moment to paint a clearer picture of what HomeStrong Fitness truly represents as a company. HomeStrong Fitness is more than just a company; it’s a family business born out of the passion my wife and I share for health and fitness. Over the years, we have followed and admired many industry leaders like Dave Asprey of the Bulletproof brand, Mark Sisson of the Primal brand, Aubrey Marcus of the Onnit brand, and several others. These remarkable individuals have not only created successful products but have also built strong and unique “brands” that offer tremendous value to their consumers.
At the core of HomeStrong Fitness lies the idea of building a brand that people can trust, rely on, and turn to for guidance and support. We kickstarted our journey with the HomeStrong Fitness System, a home gym carefully designed to meet the needs of modern individuals with busy schedules, limited space, and budget constraints. However, our vision extends far beyond this initial product.
Our ultimate goal is to create a comprehensive brand experience for our clients, assisting them in achieving their fitness goals successfully. While our primary focus remains on providing exceptional fitness products, we are equally devoted to sharing the wealth of knowledge we have gained through our personal fitness journey.
We are building an extensive database of valuable information, including diet plans, supplement recommendations, and exercise routines, which are readily available on our website and social media platforms. To us, this is the most sincere form of showing appreciation to our customers.

Steve, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The story behind HomeStrong Fitness began about 15 years ago. After college, I started several small subcontracting companies in the construction industry. Life was pretty hectic but filled with blessings. However, I got so caught up in work that my healthy lifestyle from my twenties took a backseat. I felt physically worn down and out of shape.
Then, at the age of 37, my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world, which made me reevaluate my life and priorities. I realized I didn’t want my children to look up to a physically depleted version of myself. That’s when I decided to jump back on the health and fitness bandwagon. I returned to the gym, studied everything I could from the best health and longevity experts, and worked on getting back into shape.
Everything was going well, but the biggest challenge was finding time for the gym. My businesses were growing, and so was my family. Family always came first, followed by business, leaving little time for anything else. Over the years, I tried various home workout routines like bodyweight exercises, kettlebells, and free weights, but my limited space made it tricky.
Then, around five years ago, I aggravated an old injury that needed physical therapy. During this time, I was introduced to resistance band training. As my injury healed, my therapist pushed me to do more band exercises. I was amazed by the workout I got, but some movements felt awkward compared to traditional “weightlifting.”
Despite the challenge, I continued training with bands at home, determined to find a better solution. I wanted something that represented the movements of gym equipment, cable machines, and free weights. After multiple attempts, I finally perfected the HomeStrong Fitness System as it is today. Our system is truly revolutionary and ultimately earned a patent.
The HomeStrong Fitness System offers an incredible range of over 200 exercise variations, all packed into a compact design. We got rid of the need for large and expensive machines, exercise racks, and free weights. Although we have trainers who can customize programs to specific needs, we also have a growing library of free exercises and training routines on our website and YouTube channel. That means no need for ongoing memberships or subscriptions!
At HomeStrong Fitness, we’re all about making fitness accessible and effective. We want to support every client’s personal fitness journey, helping them achieve their goals and become the best version of themselves.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Although I have been an entrepreneur most of my adult life, transitioning from a service-based construction business to a direct-to-consumer online business has been a huge transition and learning experience. After about 20 years in the contracting business, I was ready for a change. Today there are so many opportunities to grow a business outside of the traditional brick-and-mortar business models I was intrigued to go in a completely different direction. Honestly, developing the idea and designing the HomeStrong Fitness System has been the easy part. Learning a completely new business platform after so many years has had challenges but is also invigorating. At my core, I love the opportunity to share the world of health and fitness with others. Fitness has been so transformative in my own life that I am truly inspired to share it with our clients. This inspiration keeps me driven on a daily basis to create an amazing brand that will stand apart from the rest.
Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
I am through and through a Patriot. For generations, my family has fought for this great country and I could not be more proud to be an American. This is why I am so proud that the HomeStrong Fitness System is manufactured in the USA, right here in my home state of Arizona. It is vitally important to me to provide a superior product to my clients and to provide great jobs for our fellow citizens. When I first developed the idea of HomeStrong, I had no idea how to have it made. I did copious amounts of research on who could fabricate the product and visited numerous vendors. After visiting a handful of fabricators I found one that had the capacity to make all of the parts involved and contracted them to develop my prototype. The process was anything but smooth. Ultimately they provided a prototype that was suitable for testing and identifying final revisions but it was apparent that I would have to find another vendor that could handle production at scale. After a few more rounds of trial and error, I was fortunate to find a great local vendor that is amazing to work with and shares our commitment to quality. It is not an easy process but ultimately it comes down to finding a partner that shares your values. Being honest, meeting commitments, and having open lines of communication are paramount to the success of any partnership. Find a vendor that can fulfill these requirements and you are setting yourself up for success!
