We recently connected with Steve Haddadin and have shared our conversation below.
Steve, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career.
This is a great question, and I have been actively working on it and have seen success in its implementation. The approach of education should be how to train students to be ready for their careers and to develop the skills to put themselves out there and network, not just to regurgitate information and pass a test in the middle and the end of a semester. I currently serve on the board of the Center for Real Estate at my alma mater, California State University, Fullerton. During my time on the board, I pushed a new concentration in Real Estate, an annual student trip to the ICSC Las Vegas, and strategic alliances with various real estate organizations to provide networking opportunities for students. There have been many success stories with our graduates due to the networking opportunities provided. This is how you provide value for the time and financial commitment students are making when enrolling at a university.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
My source of new clients is my sphere of influence. As a middle eastern man, I grew up with a lot of relatives and friends. Many people from immigrant parents can relate, but not everyone takes makes the most of it. I connected with my community and my community trusted me. With trust comes responsibility, and I answered with providing the utmost care in delivering my services. Thankfully, this has proven to be a great long-term strategy.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
A story from my journey that illustrates my resilience is best exemplified by the milestones I reached and how I earned them. Each of these milestones were not easy and they took a lot of grit to accomplish. Times got tough when I had work obligations intertwined with tasks to obtain these milestones. For example, during law school, I was still managing the brokerage and I had active deals with existing clients. Things got hectic at times, but thankfully I had a great support system and I learned a self-care routine that works for me.
