We recently connected with Sterling Drake and have shared our conversation below.
Sterling, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I have a busy release schedule leading into next summer with my latest EP “Live from the Station Inn” coming out this fall. My next single is a live performance of the Jon Anderson song “Seminole Wind” which drops September 15.

Sterling, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Certainly, I’m a roots-based country singer. Originally born in Florida I moved out west to pursue ranching and horsemanship eventually landing in Montana, In more recent years I’ve been focusing on performing and song writing. I view my music as a lens to marry my passions with honest story telling.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
We live in an amazing time for creators and artists with the advent of social media and streaming services. There are definitely new challenges today, but there are more ways now than ever for artists to connect directly. To help musicians thrive, fans can do a few things, Buy and stream music through Spotify and iTunes, attend concerts, purchase merch, engage with musicians on social media, share their work, and participate in crowdfunding campaigns to provide financial support and visibility. Fans can also encourage local venues and festivals to book and promote independent musicians.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Watching your work take life of its own. To see people actively engaging in your music is rewarding. Also, to see your music connect with people on a personal level.
