We recently connected with Stephon Sanders and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Stephon thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I’m always learning—about myself and the world around me—and that shapes the legacy I want to leave behind. What I thought about my future at 13, when I first started my business, is so different from where I stand today. As I continue to grow, especially now that I’m in college, my goal is to build a legacy that’s about more than just business success. I want people to remember how I gave back to the community, whether it was through mentoring, sharing what I’ve learned, or simply being someone young people could look up to.
More than anything, I hope people see that I chased my dreams, even when it wasn’t easy, and that I encouraged others to believe in themselves and go after their own dreams too. At the end of the day, I want to leave a lasting impact—not just in the gaming and mobile entertainment industry—but in the lives of the young people in my community who have big dreams just like I did.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Stephon Sanders, an 18-year-old Founder and CEO of Street Gamez, A Mobile Gaming Entertainment company. I’m a freshman at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU). My journey started at 13 when I combined my love for video games with a desire to be my own boss. Street Gamez started in Florida and now has expanded into the Carolinas. A dream of owning 1 game truck turned into a mobile gaming lounge, Foam parties, silent parties, and more. We specialize in mobile entertainment. I’m proud of how far we’ve come from community service, news features to collaborations with big brands and influencers. My motto is “Don’t just play the game, change the game.” It’s bigger than just parties and games; I hope to be the future of mobile entertainment and inspire young entrepreneurs. Whether you’re looking for a unique experience at your next event or to connect with a young entrepreneur on a mission, I’m your guy!
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Word of mouth and customer marketing have been my top strategies for growing my clientele. I love attending networking events because they help me make real connections, and face-to-face interactions really build trust. When I host fun events, it encourages clients to share their experiences with friends and family. I’ll admit, social media marketing isn’t my strong suit yet, but using platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook have really helped me reach a wider audience and connect with people worldwide.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My senior year of high school taught me a tough lesson in resilience. I was thrilled to receive the Presidential Volunteer Award, but my basketball coach gave me an ultimatum: the award or the team. It wasn’t just about missing a few games; I’d lose my entire senior season. As a student athlete and entrepreneur since middle school, I thought I had time management figured out, but this was different. Suddenly, my proudest achievement felt like a burden. I was lost, confused, and my self-esteem took a hit because I never imagined I would have to choose. But life has a way of opening new doors. I found a new school where I was truly supported, both on and off the court. This experience showed me what genuine connections feel like and taught me that resilience isn’t just about bouncing back, it’s about finding where you truly belong.
