Stephen, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
We understand the unique business of fitness is important for our Communities. Coming from a career background in Law Enforcement and the Military, I understand the importance of offering a community-based fitness center for our local communities is very crucial. Everyone needs to stay healthy and invest the time to be in a community that can help them achieve their fitness goals. F45 Training encompasses a combination of technology and workout programs like no other.
In the past three years, we helped over 2000 members achieve their fitness goals. Our passion for fitness is second to none. Offering group classes to all ages and all fitness levels. Our trainers are all nationally certified and provide personalized fitness coaching methods to guide all members of our communities.
During COVID, we invested in a 3000 sq ft outdoor training space to allow members to work out. Trainers invested countless hours to ensure we stay in compliance with L.A County health department mandates. Our outdoor training space was one of the best fitness training spaces that set us apart from other fitness studios.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I always have had a great passion for fitness. Mainly because of my old profession in Law Enforcement and the Military. I am a firm believer that knowing only fitness can promote health. Before I opened F45, I only knew about big box gyms like 24-Hour Fitness and LA Fitness.
Then during my trip to China, I was amazed by the results from my cousin who used to be 200 lbs and had lost over 50 lbs in a short period. He then introduced me to F45, a global fitness chain in China. After I took one class with him at F45. I immediately fell in love with this brand and decided to invest my own F45 in my community. After years of investment. I was proud of what I did and have met many great members who shared the same passion as me in fitness.
Seeing them making progress in their strengths and seeing them losing weight are the two upmost rewards that drive me to continue my passion continuing my business role as a gym owner.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Investing in a F45 gym was never easy. I used all my savings and 6 months to build this studio from scratch. After I opened this gym, the amount of time I had to invest was also the main reason that steered me off spending time with my family. Although, the initial capital was large the return of seeing members changing their appearance was the ultimate driver that kept me going.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
For you to be successful in managing a team. First, you need to be more motivated than others. Secondly, you need to have good ethics in building your team and maintaining a good working relationship with them. Treat them with fair respect and reward them as needed.
